Just got back from seeing this. Another great film. Some great nods to the comics and other films, good story, some great performances.
Don't miss the mid-credits scene no matter what you do and the post-credits scene is worth the wait as well.
I wish I could have gone into the film not knowing anything about Mysterio from the comics, otherwise no real complaints.

I can't believe no one else has hit this thread.............. is everyone suffering from Post End Game Depression? A thoroughly enjoyable film. There was one aspect I didn't (and still don't) care for; but, I've come to the realization that I'm pretty much the only one who thinks that way - so it must be "just me" so I'll not go into it here. I agree the mid credit scene is a MUST. The end credit scene provides food for thought as to where the Spidey movies could be heading. I'll definitely add this to my Blu-ray collection and watch it numerous times.

Yeah, already knowing about Mysterio kind of destroyed the entire suspence for me. It was an amazing twist, what with how incredibly nice he was before, but when you know it's coming, there are basically no surprises in this movie at all. Until the credits start rolling, that is. Btw, I read about a rumour on the net that a certain Matt Murdock might become Peter's lawyer in the next movie. Now how epic would that be??

I wish I could have gone into the film not knowing anything about Mysterio from the comics, otherwise no real complaints. I can't believe no one else has hit this thread.............. is everyone suffering from Post End Game Depression? Well, the movie certainly wasn't. I mean, I know that especially in the MCU Spider-Man is a very lighthearted character, but I still thought it was a big letdown that they just glossed over 5 years worth of emotional trauma with a few jokes. A thoroughly enjoyable film. There was one aspect I didn't (and still don't) care for; but, I've come to the realization that I'm pretty much the only one who thinks that way - so it must be "just me" so I'll not go into it here. TEASE!!! I agree the mid credit scene is a MUST. The end credit scene provides food for thought as to where the Spidey movies could be heading. Yeah, those last two scenes were awesome, but considering how many people already knew from the comics and cartoons that Mysterio was a villain, you'd think they might have wanted to include some sort of additional twist into the movie's normal runtime. I'll definitely add this to my Blu-ray collection and watch it numerous times.

So, the entire (real) world is going "snap" crazy (hell, Google even got in on the act) and in the first, post-End Game movie....... they call it "Blip"............WTF? Do the writers not have social media?
This has been "Just a thought" brought to you by the ramblings of a bored middle aged male. We now return you to your regular movie reviewing activities.......

Technically it became the blip when it was reversed. i.e. the blip consists of the snap, 5 years and the return. Or maybe Sony was just worried they'd be on their own after this film and so wanted their own name for it.

Only slightly less than if he got Aunt May's ex bf, "Uncle Vinny", for his lawyer.

What was your beef? Something felt "off" in this movie. Like they were trying too hard. (I had the same thought about Endgame.) I wish both SM movies would have had Watts commentary. Disappointed that they didn't have one...

(A more appropriate term might have been "The Return".)
There's a more far reaching social consequence of all those who were snapped suddenly re-appearing after 5 years. Larger (perhaps) than the snap itself, in terms of property rights, relationships, food availability and maybe even housing. I'm not even talking about the psychological impact of the dead suddenly returning to life...
In terms of the film, those who weren't snapped, should have already graduated from high school, and shouldn't have been in the class trip. Just sayin'...
(Sorry if this has been covered before. And I assume the snap/blip isn't spoiler territory anymore... )

And I assume the snap/blip isn't spoiler territory anymore... ) My understanding is that "blip" is being used for the entire thing - snap + 5 years + return. But yeah, there would be some major complexities for sure. Some alluded to in the film (Aunt May returning to find new people living in her old apartment, that one teacher who's wife used the snap to pretend she was snapped and leave him etc.) As implausible as it may be, we're to assume that all the main characters on the trip were either snapped/blipped or were years younger before the snap. So some of the Pete's classmates (who never really factored into the first film much) did graduate. The rest (Ned, Flash, MJ) all conveniently skipped the same 5 years Peter did.

Disappointed that they didn't have one... EDITH, which is an acronym for why was Iron Man the leading man in a Spider Man film? I'm sorry but there was just too much IM BS in this flick. I love IM and Tony; and, I think no one could have done a better job than RDJ, but he was WAY overused throughout the first 22 movies. And now to have the dead character dominate Spiderman's second MCU movie, well.............. it was a bit off-putting for me. Don't know if they were trying too hard (I expected it for Endgame, BTW), or what........... but, yeah, something was off. I enjoyed and have watched it 3 times (and will watch more in the future). I just wish I had EDITH glasses so I could target EDITH.......

I was already kinda pissed off when then basically gave most of the third Captain America movie to Iron Man, especially in light of the immense success of The Winter Soldier. But, hey, the movie was called Civil War, so it made sense that both factions in the fight would get adequate screen time. Still annoying, but I get it. Seeing as Tony was then the one who introduced Spider-Man into the superhero big leagues, it made sense that he would play a big role in Spider-Man Homecoming, too. Although, I felt his part in there was really well integrated into the story. He only showed up, or was even brought up, when it really counted and it helped motive Peter's character arc. But, yeah, as you said, the guy is dead! Does he really have to play such a big part in other people's movies at this point?! I wanna see Spider-Man being Spider-Man, not just act like he's a sidekick who just lost his hero friend. Man, I really hope his appearance in the Black Widow movie is just gonna be like a small cameo, because if they have Tony Stark all up in that plotline, I'm gonna be pissed!

I personally felt that the amount of Tony and his "circle" was appropriate given how they'd already intertwined Peter with him so far.
I was on record before Spidey got introduced though that I did NOT want him to be an Avenger. I wanted the loner, sad luck Peter Parker I grew up with. When Civil War came out and everything since though I have felt that they did a good job showing that side of Peter while still using him in bigger stories.
All that stated, I do hope that they find a way to let Peter get back to his (comic) roots.

I really hope she goes back to this look. The blonde version just never seemed right.
