AoS6.5
This episode contained a crapload of exposition, much of it very important. They crammed so much into the Ep, that scenes often overlap. (Dialog for the next scene starts before the current scene completes.) The show is centered in three places, the Lighthouse, Team Mad-Max's semi, and the Chronicom ship.
I'm going to post in two parts. What might be close to the entire show, and then a second post for a summary and speculation. Personally, I'd go there.
Executive summary: Well, hell...
Prologue.
Crap. They're finally getting around to showing May still has some Coulson issues. She is in Tahiti (I assume), asleep. She awakens, and Coulson is staring at her. In reality, she's been drugged, and is inside Sarge's semi, with her consciousness switching between her Tahiti dream and her current predicament. In her dream, her wrists are crossed, but in reality, they're tied together with a zip tie. She sees Sarge in profile, but it fades into Coulson in Tahiti, then back to Sarge in the semi.
The semi pulls up (Snow is driving) to some oil pumps. Sarge picks up a tablet. They've found another that doesn't belong. It is quite clear May doesn't like Snow. If looks could kill, Snow would be dead, as well as Sarge and everybody within a 5 mile radius, lol...
Sarge: Pretty isolated out here. Should be no interference. It's a bag and gag. Keep it simple, check in when you're done.
Snow (looking at May): So serious. Such a pretty face...
Sarge: Snow. Pax and Jaco are gone. You're all I got. I need to know you can handle this.
Snow: Yes, Sarge. I got it. Unless, you'd rather go. I'd be happy to keep our guest company. She has so much potential...
Sarge: Snow, you're going to do great.
Snow: Fine. (to May) Later then.
Sarge: Happy hunting. (Snow leaves the semi. Then to May) Well, look at us. All by our lonesomes at last.
May: What do you want? Why am I here?
Sarge: I'm going to turn you.
May gives Sarge the look of, "If I ever get loose, I'm going to beat the hell out of you."
Title card.
Mack is in the control room of the Lighthouse. The camera pans around, and agent Trevor Kahn approaches.
Agent Kahn: Director. We just got word. Deke Shaw is out of surgery. He's sedated. It's hard to imaging him actually quiet. Small miracles, I guess... (HAhahahaha... Well, Mack isn't laughing, not even smiling, which makes Kahn a little uncomfortable.) It looks like he'll be fine.
Why was Deke in surgery? Did Mack beat him up? He was fine at the end of the last show...
In the background, Yo-Yo is passing through and exchanges glances with Mack.
Mack: Yo-Yo. Wait up. How are you doing?
Yo-Yo: I've been working the prisoners. I haven't gotten anything useful except they call their boss Sarge. The big guy barely talks and the squirily kid won't stop...
Mack: That's not what I mean. I know you and Keller were...
Yo-Yo: You don't have to. May is out there somewhere.
Mack: I have people working on that. Just take a minute. You lost someone, that's never easy.
Yo-Yo: I'm getting used to losing people.
Mack: I didn't have a choice. This isn't a job I take lightly. I have to be responsible for everyone.
Yo-Yo: I wasn't getting in the way of that.
Mack: I was afraid. Afraid I couldn't measure up to Coulson. And now his double is out there, killing people and we've lost... we've lost agents. I feel like I'm losing control. You used to be the one I turned to.
Yo-Yo: What do you want, Mack? I take your orders without question. You need more from me? Boss? (Mack remains silent.) That's what I thought.
Mack: Benson's working on that bird creature, so we should have an answer as to what it is soon.
Yo-Yo: Are you sure Benson is up for this?
Mack: He has his demons, but we all do. Did he make a mistake with Keller?
Yo-Yo: I don't know, but you might want to keep an eye on him. Director.
Well, that was uncomfortable.
On the Zephyr.
Enoch (still whining): There is no hope. Only loss. Decommissioned. Hunted. I have become a cautionary tail used to steer children away from a life of crime and excess.
Davis: What if you were to turn him off, his constant complaining is giving me a headache.
Piper: Well, you are the puff head who got high and shot up our super threatening fuse box, so...
Davis: Never mind. Sorry, I was wrong, the source of the headache is Piper. Definitely Piper.
Daisy: Okay, Enoch. We made... a lot of noise on Kitson, and we only have enough fuel for one more jump left, so we can't hang around up here.
Jemma: Yeah, we need to plot a course. Who was that bounty hunter, and where would he have taken Fitz?
Enoch: Poor Fitz. Though now I walk alone, I will never forget my one and only friend. (Daisy and Jemma stare at each other, and enter suck-up mode.)
Jemma: Your only friend? But you have us?
Enoch: When last we met, I forcibly abducted your team, and sent you all into a dystopian future.
Daisy: Yeah, maybe not the best start, but in the end, you really came through.
Enoch: I did?
Jemma: In the future, you sacrificed yourself for us. Without you, we would have never been able to get home and save Earth from destruction.
Enoch: The human race, has survived it's extinction level event?
Daisy: And it was all because of... you.
Jemma: Our very, very good friend.
Enoch: But if I have completed my mission, why are Chronicom Hunters after me?
Daisy: We thought those guys were from the Confederacy.
Enoch: That would be much preferred. Hunters are the most feared of the Chronicoms. Relentless. They will never release Fitz.
Jemma: And I will never stop fighting. I saw Fitz with my own eyes, I'm not going to quit now.
Power in the Zephyr goes down.
Daisy: What's happening?
Jemma: Is everyone okay?
Piper: Davis, you junkie, what did you do? (Hey! Watch how you throw that "Junkie" term around!)
Davis: It wasn't me. Something's hit us. Nav-systems and thrusters, everything's down. (A very large ship is seen above.)
Daisy: Get us back on-line. Plot a course to the nearest system.
(A portal opens up, and a half-dozen more ships appear.)
Enoch: Oh dear.
NSS. Commercial
Back in the semi, May is staring intensely at Sarge.
Sarge: You keep staring like that, my head's bound to catch fire.
May: Fine by me.
Sarge: No wonder Snow likes you. Between us, that girl might enjoy her job a little too much. But she's loyal, so what can you do? I've been to a lot of worlds, some good, some garbage, but I've never been to one where people recognize my face. But it's not just that, everyone's acting like they know me. You seem to hate me most of all. So let's get into it.
Back in space, the Zephyr is being attached to the attacking ship.
Jemma: It won't take the Remorath long to break through that door.
Daisy: Then it's lights out, claws out.
Piper: We need guns.
Davis: On it.
Daisy: And cover. Give me a hand.
Enoch: A ship, identical to the many that surround us, came after Fitz and me. We barely escaped in the ejection pod.
Davis: Piper. (Throws her a weapon.)
Daisy: Take Aim, as soon as they're inside, open fire.
Jemma: Ready.
Enoch: If they wanted us dead, they would have cut this ship in two.
Davis: Dropping aliens, it's what I do!
Piper (to Davis): What is wrong with you?
Davis: Sorry.
Enoch: Perhaps it is not the Confederacy at all. (Goes to open the door.)
Daisy: Enoch! Stop!
(Enoch opens the door. In steps Altarah.)
Enoch: Hello, Altarah.
Altarah: Enoch. It has been a long time. You look the same.
Enoch: As do you.
Jemma: You know this woman?
Altarah: I have no gender. I am a Chronicom.
Enoch: A particularly lethal one, and no fan of mine. Before I came to Earth, Altarah was my superior, and...
Altarah: We have pursued you for some time. Enoch, you are to be judged for tampering with the universe.
Enoch: Then I will face my punishment.
Scene changes, Piper and Davis are being thrown into a cell. (We've seen this type of cell before last season. No, we probably saw this exact cell last season, just painted a little different.
)
Piper: Come on, man. Not cool.
Davis: Don't lock us in here. We hardly even know that Enoch guy.
Piper: And my buddy here is nursing a wicked hangover. Could be at least get some water or something? He gets cranky... (Door closes.)
Davis: Cranky?
Piper: I was being nice. You're a whiny bitch.
Aw Piper. A little civility.
In another part of the ship. Daisy and Jemma are walking down the corridor under guard and they notice some... marks on the walls.
Daisy: I don't understand, we thought this was a Confederacy ship.
Altarah: It was. But now it's not.
Enoch: Altarah. Even for you, this is highly aggressive. Why have you taken such action?
Altarah: In order to survive.
Enoch: You're being purposely ominous. You're hiding something.
Altarah: Our home world has been destroyed. All that remains of the Chronicom race are aboard this fleet.
Enoch: Chronyca-2 is gone? That cannot be.
Daisy: Tell us what happened.
Altarah: In recent years there were whisper of strange phenomenon on distant planets. Entire worlds, mysteriously destroyed. We never imagined it would happen to ours. It began slowly. Minor distortions in the fabric of space that released a plague. There was a great debate. But we failed to act. And then it was too late. The effect spread rapidly consuming our planet.
Jemma: These distortions. What caused them?
Altarah: Unknown.
Daisy: And you were able to seize these ships?
Altarah: The confederacy came to us, eager to pick our planet's bones clean. They were not expecting resistance. We fought back.
Daisy: So you defeated the Confederacy, but weren't able to save your planet?
Altarah: We observe and guide events. Occasionally with violence. We do not engage in conflict. We took their warships because we had none of our own. And this threat was something else entirely.
Jemma: I'm sorry. This is a tragedy. But what does that have to do with us?
Enoch: I presume Altarah, wants to know how you were able to travel through time. So we may go back and save our world.
Jemma: It's not that simple.
Altarah: You deny that you meddled with the course of events?
Daisy: No, but we don't make a point of helping people play with time that are trying to kill us.
Jemma: It's complicated. We don't know actually know how we did it.
Altarah: Lies. A favorite human pastime.
Jemma: We're telling you the truth.
Altarah: Hard to say. But I was prepared. (She... It touches a button on it's wrist. Fitz and the Hunter appear.)
Enoch: Bestie! (lol)
Jemma: Fitz! (Jemma runs to Fitz, and he's not really there. She passes right through him.) What is this?
Fitz starts speaking but is silent. The scene switches to Fitz and the Hunter, Fitz screams, "Jemma", and the Hunter whacks Fitz with his weapon.
Jemma: Stop this!
Daisy: Hurt Fitz one more time and I will tear this ship apart.
Altarah: I've heard reports of what Quake can do. Which is why Leopold Fitz is being held on another ship. If any harm comes to me, those ships will scatter across the galaxy. Behave. Or you will never find him.
Back in the semi.
Sarge: So how'd he die? The guy said you wouldn't leave Coulson's side, but the way you're always staring at me. Did you kill him? (May reacts.) Oh, it's the other thing. Okay, okay now were getting somewhere. And he died. So sad. So this. (Points to his face.) This must really be messing with your head.
May: I didn't kill him, but I am going to kill you. And I'm going to make sure it hurts.
Sarge: Uh-huh. So this imposter. So what was he? Synth? Shapeshifter?
May: He was a person. What are you?
Sarge: Not buying it. Out of the whole galaxy? He just happened to be on a planet I ended up on? Try again. What was he?
May: Decent. Everything you're not.
Sarge: Well, you know what they say, every dream is someone else's nightmare.
May: Look. You're the imposter. And if you don't know that, then you're worse off than I thought. I know where Coulson was born. Who his parents were, seen pictures of him as a kid. I know how he lived, and died. Everything. So the question you should be asking, is who the hell are you?
Snow (over the radio): Sarge.
Sarge (over the radio): Talk to me.
Snow: Bagged and gagged! Basement level.
Sarge: Nicely done! (To May) We're going to have to finish our chat later. (Puts a bag over May's head. She goes into a flashback to Tahiti with Coulson.)
(May is laughing.)
Coulson: Will you stop laughing! It sounds weird.
May: It's just that... Did you read that in a book? 'Cause that's such a cheesy way to ask a girl out for a date.
Coulson: Like I said, I planned to say it, but as you know I never did.
May: You chickened out!
Coulson: You were very intimidating back then.
May: You were too nerdy for me back then.
Coulson: Oh, really? (May holds up her glass.) Yes Ma'am! (Reaches for the wine bottle, and stops, sits back down.)
May: Too much wine?
Coulson: No, it's the other thing.
May gets up, sits next to Coulson. Flashback stops, Sarge is taking the bag off May's head. She is in a room, with Sarge, Snow, and a guy in a red shirt with a device over his mouth.
May: What is this?
Sarge: Initiation. You're going to kill him.
May: Like hell I am.
Snow: You're going to do great!
Sarge (Pulls out one of those knives and puts it on the table): When the screaming starts, you want to stab this up under his rib cage.
May (to red shirt): No one's going to hurt you, I'm going to...
Sarge shoots red shirt in the head. Well, we know where the blood stain on the wall came from now. Snow takes device off of red shirt's mouth. Sarge throws the keys to May's handcuffs on the table.
Sarge: Best of luck!
Sarge and Snow leave the room and lock the door. May starts to take off her handcuffs, and red shirt starts to come alive, gets up and attacks May.
Commercial.
Red shirt has exceptional strength, especially for someone just shot in the head. The PASB starts to come out of Red shirt's mouth, and May forces his mouth closed. May breaks some bones, puts fists and kicks that should take the guy down, and he doesn't go down. Red shirt starts to grow those crystals, May grabs the knife and put's it in the guy's chest. She is clearly terrified.
Door opens. Snow and Sarge are there.
Sarge: I knew you'd come around!
Snow (looks around, impressed): Can we keep her, Sarge?
Sarge (smiling): Welcome aboard!
May: What was that thing?
Back in the Lighthouse, Benson is working on... what used to be Keller. Mack is in the background.
Mack: Where are we with Keller?
Benson: Nowhere. I'm examining the substance that grew out of him, but I never got certified for parasitic alien birds, so who the hell knows?
Mack: It's the first for us too.
Benson: Well, here's hoping it's the last. I need the night off.
Mack: Look this job is stressful. You can cope how you like, so long as it's done responsibly.
Benson: Oh dear lord. Is this the talk? (HAhahahah) Take a look under that sheet. Stone cold sober or blackout drunk, there was no stopping that.
Mack: I don't doubt it. But there have been some concerns.
Benson: Agent Rodriguez.
Mack: People need to know you have their backs, and we have you at your best.
Benson: My best was 20 years ago. Rodriguez was right about one thing. This knife, stopped whatever that creature was. It took a while, but it's finally dead. Now if you don't mind, I have work to do.
On the Chronicom ship:
Enoch: You have made a grave mistake. Leopold Fitz is not our enemy. You need to release him.
Altarah: Incorrect. You need to help. They have the answers we need. He is our leverage.
Enoch: Fitz, has been a most loyal companion. He and I have had many adventures together.
Altarah: I am trying to save our entire race, and you are concerned about the welfare of one human. Why?
Enoch: Because recently, we have become best friends.
Altarah: It seems Earth has made you soft.
Enoch: I do not disagree that I have changed. But I believe it is for the better. One must change to grow.
Altarah: I hardly recognize you anymore. The Enoch I invited into my charging pod was reckless, but not a traitor.
Enoch: I do not believe I ever granted you access to my data port. (Was that an insult?)
Altarah: The fate of the Chronicom's is at stake here. If you refuse to assist me, then I will proceed my way.
Enoch: Your way?
Altarah: He will not answer my questions, I have no further use for your friend. (Speaks into wrist communicator.) Maliki. Dispose of the criminal on my command.
Jemma: No, wait. (Fitz and Hunter disappear.)
Enoch: Bring him back.
Daisy: Stop this, now.
Altarah: Then give me what I want.
Jemma: There was a machine that controlled a time monolith, but it was in the future, and it's been destroyed, and that's all we know.
Altarah: Who built this machine?
Daisy: We have no idea.
Altarah: Convenient.
Daisy: It's true, the machine was there when we arrived. It was built on old design.
Altarah: If so, that is most unfortunate. Perhaps I have no further use for any of you. (Okay, Altarah, you need to die. Calling it now.)
Jemma: Enoch, help us stop this.
Enoch: I have not seen this future myself, but there is only one logical conclusion. If anyone can solve the mysteries of time travel, it is Leopold Fitz.
Altarah: This is true?
Jemma: It's possible. Likely, even. But he hasn't done it yet, and the chances of recreating it are next to zero.
Altarah: Explain.
Jemma: If he did this, he'd have his whole life to figure it out, and the end of the world as motivation.
Altarah (to Enoch): You claim he's your best friend. But we are the last of our kind, you have knowledge that could aid us. What would motivate him to do what we need?
Enoch (points to Jemma): Her. Put Jemma Simmons in danger, and Fitz can solve anything.
Daisy and Jemma: Enoch!
Altarah (to wrist communicator): Let him live. (Looks to Jemma) And her. Kill the others.
Jemma (to Daisy): They need Fitz alive, so that means they won't kill him.
Daisy: I can kick her ass. (And quakes Altarah and the two guards. Enoch looks very surprised. He's not seen Daisy in action before.) Let's go.
Commercial.
Benson: Here to spy on me again?
Yo-Yo: I rescued you, in case you forgot. I killed Keller to save your life.
Benson: Well, if you hadn't, we'd have likely lost the lighthouse.
Yo-Yo: I've made hard choices before. Being right doesn't stop it from feeling wrong.
Benson: I know what you mean. Two years back, I got a call. Car crash.
Yo-Yo: Your husband?
Benson: Brain dead. Machines breathing for him, Tom didn't want that. His family fought me on it, but after a few days, I had them turn off the ventilator. They never will forgive me. It's the hardest choice I've ever made. But I took comfort in knowing it was the right one. And so should you.
Yo-Yo: So the knife did kill it.
Benson: The blade generated a chemical reaction, paralyzing the creature, then after six hours, it took on an inert, hardened state, and expired. Under a microscope, the creature now has a makeup similar to those spikes. A strange, crystalline structure. Obviously, I have never seen anything like it.
Yo-Yo: We have.
Back in the semi.
Sarge: They come from another world. They're called the Shrike. Primal, simple beings. They get to a new world and infect the host. If the host gets taken out, they go berserk in search of a new one.
May: You did that just to make a point. It could have killed me.
Sarge: I figured you could handle yourself. Besides, you kinda have to see it to believe it.
May: When it couldn't get to me, it started screaming. Changing.
Sarge: Supercharging. Turning the host's energy into pure destruction. Left unchecked, well, it's a good thing you came to your senses.
May: You're not creating these things, you're trying to stop them.
Sarge: We follow them to a new world, and track anything that doesn't belong there and kill it.
May: That's why you came after Deke.
Sarge: Our tracker shows he's not from here, but he's no Shrike. What is he?
May: Exhausting. (HAhahahahaha...)
Back in the Lighthouse. Benson has a tablet showing the three stones.
Mack: Nothing good has come from these things.
Benson: And these monoliths each had unique capabilities, controls something different?
Yo-Yo: Yeah. Space, time and this one. We never found out.
Mack: We don't know where they're from, really not much at all, but they're extremely powerful.
Benson: Well, molecularity, their growths appear to be similar.
Yo-Yo: Which means what?
Benson: If monoliths control space and time, maybe these control life and death.
Mack: So if there's more of these creatures, then how bad could it get? And what are they after?
Yo-Yo: Keller said that the man was headed toward a Ley Line convergence point?
Benson: A week ago, I would have said it was hippy-dippy nonsense, but Ley Lines are believed to be a matrix of planetary energy.
Yo-Yo: We've seem what these birds do with human energy.
Benson: Now, if the creature had made it to a convergence point, and initiated the same process, the result would be...
Mack: Catastrophic.
Benson: What's that word he said. The man in the brick wall. He was repeating it.
Cut immediately to the semi.
Sarge: Pachakutiq. It's coming. (See summary.)
May: What does it mean?
Sarge: The death of everything.
May: You've seen it for yourself.
Sarge: Too many times. They're singular in focus, serving only their creator.
May: Creator? A person?
Sarge: A monster. This is the closest I've come to stopping it, and I've been hunting for as long as I can remember.
May: And how long is that, exactly? What do you remember, a few weeks, a year back? You got anything before that?
Sarge: I've been carrying my way through this galaxy before you were born.
May: You don't look old enough for that.
Sarge: I've lived on planets moving at almost the speed of light. I've been alive for a hundred of your years, and I'll be alive a hundred years after you're gone. Your man may have run out of time, but for me...
Sarge and the semi fades out, Coulson and Tahiti fades in.
Sarge and Coulson: The tick of the clock is only getting louder.
May: Don't joke about that anymore. You know I hate it.
Coulson: I'm talking about you. And what's next. I'm saying the Acadamy, it's not a bad idea. You'd make a great teacher.
May: Sounds like Hell.
Coulson: You know what they say, every dream is someone else's nightmare.
May is drawn back into the semi.
May: Wait. What did you say?
Sarge: The shike are cancer. I'm going to makes sure this is the last planet they ever infect.
May: How do you plan to do that?
Sarge: To stop the spread, you cut off the limb. When their creator arrives, I'm going to burn it all down.
Commercial.
In Piper and Davis' cell, they're trying to pry off a panel.
Davis: You're not even trying.
Piper: Speak for yourself!
Davis: Then why am I the only one sweating?
Piper: Because you haven't worked out in weeks and it's starting to show.
The cell door opens up. It's Daisy and Jemma.
Davis: We could have saved ourselves...
Daisy: We're leaving.
Davis: Right...
Jemma: What's the plan?
Daisy: Get to Z-One, get the power back on and get the hell out of here.
Suddenly, the Chronicoms block their way, both in front and in back.
Altarah: Surrender, and I will guarantee a bloodless and efficient death.
Piper: Well, that sounds reasonable.
Daisy: New plan. We fight.
Davis: Let's do this. I'm thirsty.
Altarah: Take them!
Jemma: No, don't shoot. Daisy, don't.
Daisy: Simmons, get out of the way.
Simmons: Enoch was right. Fitz can't solve time travel without me. But not as a hostage, but as a partner. (To Altarah) Fitz and I, we're a team. Let the others leave, and I'll go with you.
Daisy: No. Don't do this. We will find another way.
Simmons: But there isn't one. We're impossibly outnumbered, we're unarmed, and even if we make it to the Zephyr, there's a fleet of ships waiting to blast us into oblivion. This is the end of the road. You followed me for a year across the galaxy, I never would have made it here without you. But I won't keep putting you in danger. Thank you. Now go home.
Daisy: No Simmons, I... I can't leave you.
Simmons: You have to. Whatever happens, at least I'll be with Fitz. We'll have each other.
Oh sugar honey ice and tea. This can't end well...
Back on the semi. Sarge is driving, Snow is guarding May. May is staring at Snow.
Snow: You must like what you see. Always staring at me.
May: Your boss runs a tight crew. Everyone has a role, but you, I can't figure out.
Snow: Because I'm so mysterious.
May: I was going to go with nuts. He (Sarge) even said you were unhinged. Probably why he didn't want you here when we had our talk earlier.
Snow (visibly... perturbed): I dig the unyielding, warior vibe, but you've clearly closed yourself off from the universe. You don't even know what you don't know. I can help you break free from your chrysalis of negativity.
May: Whatever you say, Princess Butterfly.
Snow (jumps off box, approaches May): You'll be reborn, and then you'll see...
And, Snow gets too close, and May takes her out. Cut to cab of semi, and a hose gets wrapped around Sarge's neck.
Sarge: Dammit lady...
May: I told you I'd make it hurt.
They fight, Sarge stops the truck, gets the upper hand.
Sarge: I thought you were coming around. (More fighting.) He was your dream, I'm your nightmare. (More fighting, May gets the advantage back.) I thought you loved this face.
Wrong thing to say, Sarge. May knocks Sarge out, and handcuffs him to the door. May has a flashback. Coulson is asleep?
May: Told you it was easy to drift off.
May takes a wine glass out of Coulson's hand, and puts it on his lap. May is back in the cab of the semi, Sarge's hand is hanging down, and May puts it in his lap. Just like she did for Coulson. She drives off...
Fade slowly to Mack's office. Benson comes in.
Benson: Mack. I have a favor to ask.
Mack: Yeah, go ahead.
Benson: I need a quinjet and a pilot.
Mack: To go where?
Benson: The Yucatan. Where SHIELD's first monolith was unearthed. Then South America. Pachakutiq? It's an Incan word. I think there could be some connection.
Mack: Is this you going all in, or are you pulling the rip cord.
Benson: Maybe it's a long shot, but I'd like to try. With what we're up against, we need to turn over every stone.
Mack: Hmmm. Pun intended?
Squelching noises heard from the control room.
Mack: Redirect our transceivers, get a lock on that signal.
Daisy (Over the radio): Lighthouse control, this is Zephyr One. Requesting permission to land.
(Control room cheers. And the Zephyr comes home.)
The door opens, and out comes Piper and Davis and Daisy.
Yo-Yo: Welcome back! (Hugs Davis and Piper.)
Davis: I never thought I'd be happy to see this dirty old place.
Piper: Amen, brother!
Mack: Tremors.
Daisy: Director. (And hugs Mack.)
Mack: Where's Fitz and Simmons?
Trevor Kahn (interrupting): Sir. Agent May just called. She's on her way back. She caught him.
Daisy: Caught who?
Ah, much to catch up on, on both sides.
Commercial.
Epilogue.
Enoch enters Fitz's cell.
Fitz: Enoch. They won't tell me anything. Is Jemma okay?
Enoch: Daisy Johnson and her crew have returned home. Jemma Simmons is safe, but a prisoner on this ship.
Fitz: Okay, assume I've asked all the right questions. Tell me what happened.
Enoch: The Chronicoms need you to develop a method of time travel so that we may go back and save our home world.
Fitz: That's insane.
Enoch: Insanity is relative.
Fitz: What does this have to do with Jemma? Why is she a prisoner? (Enoch remains silent.) Enoch? What did you do?
Enoch: I told them you were the only one who could accomplish this task, and that Simmons would serve well as... motivation.
Fitz: You did what?
Enoch: It was the only way I could prevent your execution and also have...
Fitz: You useless, no good automaton.
Enoch: There's no need for pejoratives...
Fitz: You... are the absolute worst!
Enoch: On the bright side, you and Simmons will be together.
Fitz: The last thing I would want is to have Simmons in danger. And you knew that. Get out.
Enoch: I came here, to tell you we were nearing our destination, and I will always consider you a friend. (Takes out a device, pushes a button and gas starts to fill the room.)
Fitz: What the hell? Enoch?
Fitz falls to the floor.
End program.
