Marvel/Netflix's swansong. I hope it's going out in a bang, not in a "GoT Season 8" way.

I'll be curious to see how or if it "sums up" the Defenders thing or if it's just a regular season with no hints that it's Netflix's last MCU one.
They could certainly use this to hint at other characters and shows they plan to put on other services but not sure Netflix would love that.

So apparently they wrote the entire season before they knew it was the last one (on Netflex, he added, hoping it's a relevant clarification).
When they found out, they added the very last sequence as something that could work as either a final time we see Jessica or something that left doors open to follow up on later.
I really hope Disney has a plan to keep at least some of these characters going. I don't know that they all need shows on the Disney service, but I really would like to see more of Daredevil, Punisher and Jones in some way.

I've heard some chatter that these shows could eventually find their way to Hulu due to Disney's involvement with them. I definitely hope that we may see some of these characters in some incarnation again. My understanding is that they have to go a year or two without being used after the Netflix contracts end. I don't know how that will work out as far as getting the actors back, if they've moved on to other things. Personally, I'd be happy to even see just some short miniseries, like The Defenders. They've also had characters cross over into each others' shows, so that's not out of the realm of possibility either.

Yeah I wonder how strict the agreement is. Could we get a tease of one or two characters before they're allowed to "star" in a show? Or maybe it would have to be just mentions (thinking AoS here of course). But yeah, a Heroes for Hire show would work. Or a Defenders series where maybe each season is about a few of the characters rather than a full-on team up every episode?

As to that final scene you mentioned: I actually had to laugh a bit about that one in retrospect, as I imagined Jess walking back into the apartment building only to knock on Malcolm's door and demand her keys back. "Sorry, looks like I'm gonna keep Alias Investigations after all. But, hey, maybe you want to fight Gillian for your old assistant job?"
