And that's all she wrote, folks! Honestly, the ending was rather disappointing, but I really can't see any other way it would end. Also I've been saying since season 2 or 3 that I seriously doubted there would be an Iron Throne at the end of this.

Kinda feel like a better ending would have been for Arya to steal Missanei's face in time to stop Dany from crossing the line.

GRRM said that his ending in the books won't be that different than that in the show and in a lot of aspects I can see that. Daenerys going full Mad Queen and burning King's Landing, Jon killing her and ending up back with the Night's Watch, Drogon destroying the Iron Throne and the title of king (or queen) no longer being hereditary... I can see all those things happening "for real".
But I guess the fact that I use this term shows the standing the final season(s) of GoT has for me regarding its content and it being "canon" as far as the story of Westeros is concerned. I think they ended the plot about the struggle between the houses, the war and the fight for the throne rather well and satisfyingly enough, considering that they weren't going to add five more seasons to be able to do the books fully justice. But, at least for me, the second half of the plot, with the White Walkers, the approaching Long Night and, you know, all the "Winter is coming!" was even more important and I still think they royally screwed that one up! Heck, it's like they even forgot about the fricking winter! That gathering at King's Landing coundn't have been more than a few weeks after the battle and yet it looked like it was going to be spring again!

There was already grass sprouting through the snow in the North, at the Wall when Jon rode through the gate at the end.

Are we meant to assume that the Night King was part of what caused winters to be harsh?
Love this tweet/video but also can't help but think there could be even funnier ones:
