Good read! That makes sense logistically. I wonder if the "Snapocalypse" will be addressed in S7? I suppose they could do that, theoretically if they choose to.

The one problem I have there is that as I recall, the Confederacy showed Thanos already in NY not 'on his way'. Even with a Fitz to retrieve, no way does the team just say, 'The Avengers can handle that' to the fight with Thanos especially if they're altering the battle to have lasted more than a year.

This is linked in the article DTM posted here, but I'll give it a link of its own
This article compares the situation with Fitz to the one with Gamora, though it was done before the start of season 6. One thing it does miss is that even though alternate Fitz hasn't married Simmons, the were already serious with their relationship as opposed to alternate Gamora who hadn't yet met Quill.

Interesting. This restores some of my hope. I had assumed it was purely a unique timeline and that would be their excuse to completely ignore the films going forward. But it sounds like they might just prefer to play catch-up which I guess makes sense logistically.

From all I have read, it seems that AoS show runners were put in the awkward position of not knowing what would happen in IW and EG, and had no choice but to ignore it for the time being... I have been forever one of the strongest supporters of 'its all connected', and I understand the difficulties involved, yet if the movie side of things fails to deliver one of these days, I will really be disappointed.

We couldn't be more on the same page from the sounds of things. To me, Endgame had a few opportunities to finally deliver on this in a way (or ways) that wouldn't have compromised anything on the TV/Netflix side. AoS suffered from the (apparent) uncertainty of when it would come out - so I understand that doing something cool on TV gets trumped by potentially spoiling the biggest MCU movie of all time.
