When the crew is standing around the coffin, and listening to the recording for the first time, they had just been informed about 15 minutes before the shooting of the scene, that the show was cancelled. Go back and look at the emotion on all their faces. No acting needed, that was true sadness they were expressing. I remember that from the DVD commentary. It's a bit similar to a story from MASH. The cast wasn't informed of the death of Henry Blake until minutes before they shot the scene where Radar comes into the OR to announce it. Wasn't it also Fox that terminated The Sarah Conner Chronicles on a really huge cliffhanger? Though I guess the writers have to take a good portion of the blame on that one - they had to know it was possible the show wouldn't come back from the break.

Also - from the dvd extras - they show the cast and crew at a Christmas party; little did they know that, that party was their wrap party........

Sounds like what happened with FarScape, back in the day. We were supposed to get a 5th season and skiffy (SyFy) ordered 4 and 5 together. Then as S4 was winding down, skiffy backed out. It was awful! At least we got a movie to sort of wrap it up. 😞

Unfortunately they used those 6 episodes to screw things up.

Unfortunately they used those 6 episodes to screw things up. Hari Seldon Warehouse 13 started going downhill pretty fast in the next to last season. I agree, the last 6 episodes were not the best wrap up, for sure. HOWEVER, one of them is my favorite episode of the entire show. When they got immersed in the spanish telenovela. Omg I just about died laughing watching that. I know a lot of people didn't, yet I grew up seeing those shows on broadcast television, long before cable tv was invented. It wasn't until relatively recent years, 20 or so, that the shows actually got better. They used to be that cheesy, and WH did a tremendous job of capturing the feel. It helps if you speak spanish, too, to appreciate how truly funny that was. The last episode was a weak attempt to close everything, though I did think the song and dance scene was funny as hell, too.

It too, was one of those shows that had the magic combination of actors, along with Friends, Cheers, and All in the Family. I really think AoS approaches that mark too, it is probably one of the reasons I like it so much.
