It would bring a HUGE smile to my face for Agent Coulson to invoke the name Captain America to Carol Danvers. I'm not quite sure if they will ever actually call "Vers" Captain Marvel in her own movie. Phil having a conversation and bestowing onto Vers just who and what his "Man Crush" was could have been her inspiration for adopting the title of Captain prior to her figuring out her true identity. You know kind of a POST-Kree Mind wash happenstance.

When Captain Marvel does get to present day Avengers : Endgame imagine her surprise to find out that Captain Rogers is alive and still super-soldering!!!

Imagine Captain Rogers finding out that she met Phil Coulson over 25 years ago. Okay maybe that might creep him out to find out that Phil had a "Man-Crush" on Captain Rogers but it would be such an excellent ribbon for Agent Coulson giving back to the MCU.

The MCU has already taken away my Captain America lifting Thor's hammer. At least they can give us a strong Captain America to Captain Marvel hand-over and respect transition.

If the rumors of time travel via quantum realm in Endgame are true, there is still a chance of seeing Captain America lifting Thor's hammer. It's a small chance, but a chance nonetheless.
