Disney has such high hopes for Captain Marvel that they will forego part of a $150 Million in direct income by withholding the movie from other streaming services. Captain Marvel on Disney+Disney is preparing exclusive content for their own streaming services so why give Netflix a chance to gain dollars. Netflix already stiffed them by cancelling certain Marvel shows. I don't think this is all out war between the reigning champ and a determined challenger but a battle is indeed brewing.

That must mean Disney is launching soon then right? I always thought part of their strategy with Netflix was to let them show lead-in films when new films are about to come out. i.e. Thor and Thor 2 show up on Netflix a bit before Ragnarok comes out. And by extension, Captain Marvel would be streaming before Endgame comes out.
Hmm, though I guess CM will still be in theatres when Endgame comes out.

Yeah, that seems a bit too close to me, regarding the release dates. Was Black Panther up on Netflix when Infinity War came out?

Netflix already stiffed them by cancelling certain Marvel shows. I don't think this is all out war between the reigning champ and a determined challenger but a battle is indeed brewing. $150M is peanuts considering they paid over $120+M just to get back the distribution rights of Phase 1 (plus IM3) from Paramount, so they could put the Disney brand (starting with IM3) on the franchise from start to finish.
Did Netflix really "stiff" Disney, or did Marvel just get back control of the characters which may be destined for Disney+?
Think about the fact Season 7 has already been green lit. Don't you think AoS could be the gateway between network TV (i.e. ABC) and the Marvel Universe on Disney+? Why wouldn't characters in the MTU sometimes interact the same way they do in the MCU when the need arises, especially if it entices people to check out those characters on the paid side of the house?
And you're right, it won't be a war, because Netflix really has no way to fight back. They (and others like Amazon) are producing their own content, and it may rival the content that Disney puts on Disney+, but the loss of the billion dollar movies (Endgame and Toy Story 4 will probably be the first two) may hurt.
If rumors are true and Disney keeps the cost down to less than $10 a month, they'll probably get a lot of takers...

With Captain Marvel soon to breach $1 Billion I don't think the $150 Million is going to cause Disney to bat an eye.
Nice move Disney+
