Oh, for Fitz's sake, are those people nuts!!! At this point I really just hope that The Punisher and Jessica Jones will be cancelled after their next seasons as well and Marvel/Disney pulls their entire IP together on the Disney+ streaming service. Gosh, the guys in charge really need to get those sticks removed from their butts and stop acting like annoying brats fighting over their toys. The ones left hurt in the end are the fans, after all, and I'm not sure that that's what Disney wants. Personally, I never asked for a Loki or Scarlett Witch TV show and am still perplexed that Marvel is doing that. What I do want, though, are my high quality, mature rated, NY crime dramas!!!!!! I neeeeeeeeed Daredevil to come back and not just as a cameo in someone else's show!  |

Maybe I'm being naive but I fully expect more Daredevil on the Disney streaming service. No way Marvel just walks away from it. Luke and Danny probably show up again as well though probably not on solo series.

Luke and Danny probably show up again as well though probably not on solo series. Oh, I'm fully with you there, the question is just how close to the Netflix show it's going to be. Could they even do a Daredevil S4 for the Disney+ channel if they wanted to? Do they have to change the name for contractual reasons? I could live with the show being called "The Man Without Fear" instead, or whatever, but what about the actors and the creative team? Matt is awesome and all, but I also want to see the story go on for the rest of the cast, and how would they fit into a revamped show concept? Plus, with JJ and the Punisher still on Netflix, how many character crossovers can we expect going forward? Slight DD S3 spoiler: Good thing Foggy already decided to quit his job with Jeri Hogarth, because I don't see that character making another appearance with the Netflix universe being split up.
So many questions, so little to go on...

I sort of feel like the Netflix shows still coming will play out before Disney's versions start up. And I also hope that Disney's streaming service will not mean it's bubble-wrapped etc. They need to keep the tone of these since that's the calling card really. |

Yeah, I read somewhere earlier that Disney won't allow MA-rated stuff on their streaming service, but if that's the case, then the entire concept of the Netflix shows dies with these cancellations. |

I think it'd be a pretty stupid idea, business-wise, to make an entire streaming service that doesn't allow any mature content. I'm sure Disney holds the rights to a lot of stuff - be it from 20th Century Fox or other companies they own - that is not exactly family friendly, and I'd say it'd put a pretty big dent in their ability to compete on the streaming market if they ban that from their new service. |

Yup. Ideally they'd need to find a way to have two services but make it easy for people to get both (without paying double). I do actually think that Disney's traditional and ongoing content that's super squeaky clean has enough momentum with "mature" audiences that they could do really well. There are plenty of people that love the MCU for example that also follow some of the Disney stuff or just grew up with it and are nostalgic. But they'd be insane to simply drop the mature stuff since that niche will be filled by someone (i.e. if we don't get any more Daredevil, someone somewhere will come up with a gritty, dark series with great fight choreography etc. - possibly with half the crew from Daredevil). I mean, if you buy a barrel and there are fish already in it, why not shoot them? (If you get my meaning) |
