I don't know if people remember here, but I use to be on the IMDB boards and crazy enough I thought of this board when I heard the news lol. I was stunned when I read it as well. I still keep up with the show but really don't watch it week to week like before, but still a big fan. I just remember all that time on IMDB arguing week after week if this show was going to make it another season. I have been convinced since it's fourth season the show was probably done after that. Even during it's fifth season I had a feeling it was done but hope to be wrong and I was yet again.
Now I don't even have to argue the sixth season is its last since ABC has already shut me up before it came. AoS really does have one of the weirdest histories out of a lot of shows. I'm not going ever predict when it will be cancelled, it can probably last 5 more seasons lol. I don't think any Marvel show will get to seven seasons, at least not at the rate most goes.

Oh, don't remind me of the renewal/cancellation debates on imdb! I mean, there's nothing wrong with a little realistic scepticism - I was half convinced the show was gone more than once myself - but I just HATED those people who seemed to enjoy nothing more than to shout doom and dance on AoS's grave before it was even dug. So glad those guys didn't come here to this board! Although, here we have our boss lady with her ban hammer, so they wouldn't have had as much freedom to annoy everyone. Either way, having AoS already renewed for season 7 is awesome news and I already dread the cliffhanger they'll be able to pull at the end of S6 now, knowing that they get to resolve it. |

Honestly I remember saying I was going to come and join when season 5 started but sadly I was just always getting behind by weeks and I didn't want to get spoiled. So I was never caught up. I didn't watch the finale until 2 weeks later (but I knew the snap didn't happen). But yes now that season 6 starts soooooo late and in the summer it will probably be easier! |

Hey there, wow it's crazy to see so many still around here. I'm not on any other boards anymore other than a Star Trek one (yes, full nerd lol). But I admit I do sometimes miss IMDB, especially after an episode airs and just read the comments and everyone starts fighting! And we fought a lot on that board lol. And yes the biggest being the issue over its renewal chances. I admit I was always on the cynical side but I obviously wanted to be wrong. I just have the prepare for the worst attitude so it wouldn't feel like a crushing blow the day it did happen. But I did hate the people who clearly just hated the show and wanted to see it cancelled. I know every season they were hurt they couldn't show up after hearing it was cancelled and do some grave dancing. There was one guy in particular who I just couldn't stand. Good guy, but he just came off so smug the end was near and that it would be a 'good thing' the show was gone because apparently he couldn't enjoy the films knowing it existed for some reason. I try to imagine what his face looked like after every new renewal like now lol. Anyway sorry to bring up childish beefs, I'm just glad the show is coming back and that will be around through a huge part of phase 4 now. In some ways its a bit exciting not just being renewed but because there is no more superficial benchmarks like seeing it make it to syndication or IW and what happened after that. Now the show is just having its own life and it could even end up on Disney+ if ABC decides the seventh is its last. So oddly the future seems super bright now. I just pray Coulson really does come back though. |

This board is a bit confusing, I didn't know where to type. Got it now! Yes the IMDB boards were a lot of fun but highly stressful lol. Honestly I remember saying I was going to come and join when season 5 started but sadly I was just always getting behind by weeks and I didn't want to get spoiled. So I was never caught up. I was thinking maybe the converse...maybe the new head immediately gave it the green light. Either way, its great news. Gonna be another 13 episode season. I wonder how the new condensed format will work out.
I'm guessing it will feel a bit similar (though a bit longer) to the pods used earlier. Instead of having multiple pods in the season, likely just one or two. Kind of like how Netflix is approaching it now. I'm truly hoping for 2 pods... 6/7 or 7/6 is a really nice time frame to tell a story, without unnecessary filler content. It is like a two-part movie, in each of the pods, that way. They just BETTER bring Coulson back by episode 3, season 6, though!

They can't wait too long, they have to go get Fitz. That's gone from a "They probably will" to a "They have to" plot. They probably don't want to use the entire season to do it. There may be some fallout between the events of A3 and A4, though... "Fetching Fitz" might still be a good web series. A "Curing Coulson" plot line would probably be best left to the actual show, though... |
