New Trailer just released: Totally hyped for this. I'm pretty sure this show already exists? Lol, yeah, the backstory does sound a lot like Arrow for sure. Given the quality of the other Netflix shows, though, it's easily gonna be 10x better.

Evidently this show is stirring a little controversy. linkThat controversy started BEFORE Finn was cast (and it will probably never die).

Evidently this show is stirring a little controversy. linkYou know, this stuff is why so many people hate PC culture and why Donald Trump became president. Not even joking. On Monday I saw the first trailer for Ghost in the Shell, and it looked fantastic! Yet people are still b!tching about Scarlett Johanson being cast as the lead instead of an Asian actress. Like it matters to the plot! A movie is a business project, people, and ScarJo fills the seats. Get over it! Ironically, when Japan makes a live-action version of Attack on Titan with an all-Japanese cast, despite it actually being a huge plot point that the story is set in Europe and there not being any Asian people, you only hear the nerds complaining, who actually know the plot.

I saw a discussion in the Shoutbox about reviews of the first six eps (already released screeners to reviewers)
I went looking for reviews and the first three that came up had neg reviews but none of the three agreed on what was good and what was bad. The reviewers were a pop culture writer, an "entertainment" writer and and another who had no mini-bio explaining their area of expertise (and none of them were reviewers I've ever seen do this genre). A fourth, was The Marvel Report (which one could consider biased) - they gave a good review.
The thing is, take reviews with a grain of salt and understand WHO wrote it. Especially as far as this show goes as there were negative PRE-views due to the similarity with Arrow and batman begins and the (inaccurate) whitewashing complaints. Look for reviews from people you trust, or...... watch it yourself and decide. Side note: As for the Arrow and BM similarities (and whitewashing for that matter), Iron Fist is true to the comic; so take from that what you will......
Is it possible this show sucks? Yes. Any new show could suck, but I doubt this one does. Is it possible it's the worst of the four Defender shows? Yes. Highly likely as the others set such a high bar. Besides when four shows are compared, one will be the best and one will be the worst. Even if this is the worst of the four shows, I'm thinking it's still probably pretty good, considering the Marvel/Netflix track record so far.
Personally, I don't need to look on the internet to set my expectations; they're already set. I definitely don't intend to get into any SJW arguments over a TV show (there's enough Real World sugar honey ice and tea to worry about). I'm gonna watch a show I've anxiously looked forward to and decide on my own if I liked it or not.
Rant over. Stepping down off my soap box........

One thing I have heard mentioned is that Iron Fist is a bit more lighthearted than the other three, which I was hoping for because it will balance out the other shows nicely. I guess we'll find out soon-ish!

Unfortunately, I won't have time to binge watch until Sunday. I plan to stretch the series over the last couple weeks until AoS returns though!

I'm actually taking Friday (and Monday) off of work... not for this specifically, more just in need of (what I like to call) some 'mental health days' (take some time off work and unwind/destress... more than what the usual weekend allows). So I might stay up late Thursday night/early-early-early Friday morning to at least start watching an episode or two when it hits Netflix, and then spread out the rest of the viewing over the course of the weekend.

Hell, I don't even have Netflix. I have to wait for a binge invitation............. Have you tested their free trial month offer yet? No. It's not about whether or not I have access; I do, but I have satellite internet with a 10G limit. Satellite has buffering issues and streaming really eats up the Gigs. I could go off-peak if I want to stay up after 2 AM, but I'm rarely (if ever) willing to stay up that late just to stream. Regardless the day of the week, I'm up between 5 and 6 in the morning to take care of critters and do chores.
