The article leaves a possible "out" for more seasons, but they're currently planning on next season being the last.......

12 seasons too many, if you ask me. I gotta admit, its nice to find someone who agrees with my point of view about this show..
I've never been able to get past the laugh-tracks over the first 2 unfunny minutes, to get anywhere beyond the rest of the show. TOTAL FAIL in my ridiculous minor opinion.
Sure glad to know there as at least someone who is at least close to my side of the camp. Its a popular show...not in this house.

I'll start by saying "to each, their own." Personally, I've enjoyed the show. Didn't start watching until they were in S7 and I was seeing it in syndication on TBS. Liked what I saw and bought a S1-S6 blu-ray combo pack and binged all six seasons in about two weeks. On the blu-ray, they answer the canned laughter question:
It did (does) tend to get a bit monotonous (too much Sheldon for my taste), but I've enjoyed it over the past five years and it usually makes me laugh out loud at least once, each ep. But that's just me, I guess. Twelve seasons is probably two more than they should have done (ten was plenty), but I guess it's hard to sh!t-can a #1 show.

I like Big Bang all right and all, but it's not as funny to me as some sitcoms that came before it. I understand the whole "I don't get why this is so popular " thing though. I feel that way about Modern Family. It's just not funny to me. I wanted to like it cause I love Ed O'Neill, but I just barely got a small chuckle out of the episodes I did watch. Also, If I recall correctly, they were constantly talking to the camera (or appeared to be). I do not like it when shows do this. It worked in the Ferris movie and the movie Kuffs, but for a weekly TV show, it bugs me. Just like narrations on shows bugs me except for a select few:MacGyver (new one at least, can't remember if original did this), Burn Notice and Invisible Man (although admittedly this one may be due to how sexy I find Vincent Ventresca's voice lol) to name a few. Please forgive any typos as its 2am.
