That's good news. I think Deke blinking out of existence would have been a disservice to the character.
Need a web series of his adventures after he left the lighthouse and before S6...

This show ended up turning General Talbot(!) of all people into an 80's cosplay wearing, super powers wielding supervillain! I'm sure they could find a way to have Hunter/Bobbi's son met FitzSimmons' daughter if they are so inclined.  |

If Deke's father was born in 2018 and if, as Voss hinted, Deke is approximately 20 years younger than his father, thus born around 2038, then Deke looks very young for a man in his early 50s, especially with his upbringing in a harsh environment. As long as Hunter and Morse made it to the Lighthouse in time, and Hunter already knew its location, then Deke could be their descendent. There would just have to be an explanation why neither Hunter nor Morse appeared in the flashbacks in "The Last Day." If Deke is Jeff Ward's age, Deke would be born around 2060 with his father born around 2040. To me, the problem with Deke being Hunter and Morse's grandson is whether Deke's father could be born before Morse reaches menopause. It is still possible that Deke could be their great-grandson. Also, there would have to be an explanation why Hunter and Morse did not turn up as hits when Hale's assistant tested Deke's DNA. This might not be too hard if all of their records were wiped from the S.H.I.E.L.D. server when they were disavowed. |
