Thanks for posting the link. I never see any twitter feeds, because I have twitter blocked. Hollywood desperately needs new, creative blood. That's what makes Marvel unique, they come up with new ideas and approaches. Rehashing old ideas seems to have become the Hollywood norm. Even Star Wars is beginning to show it's problems when you don't have a creative person in charge. (Lemme make sure I don't fall now that I'm getting off that soapbox...)

I already saw the news, but didn't know that Joss was going to be involved. I guess that might actually salvage this disaster. Still fuming a bit here, but I'll reserve final judgement until I see some more sustantial info on the project.
If it's actually a continuation of some sort, okay, fine. Maybe I can live with that. Because, seriously, shows that ended only 10-15 years ago don't need a fricking reboot!!! *glares daggers in the direction of the new Charmed series*

If this focuses on a different slayer that could be good, if Joss stays involved. Creating a new Buffy--no thanks. As backroadjunkie said we need some new creative blood.

I don't want a new Buffy. SMG will ALWAYS be Buffy to me. I want a new slayer in a future time. Why can't they do one on the slayer from the comics Fray? She was a slayer in a futuristic world. That would be cool.

Okay so there was an article where the showrunner of the new Slayer show said this would be a continuation of the story and would be a different slayer all together, not Buffy at all. Whew!
That said, one thing she said still worries me: "the world is scarier now, so it's time to meet a new slayer", or something to that effect. If this show gets political, I will not watch it. I watch tv to escape all of that real world stuff.
Personally, if they can't do Frey/Fray (however it's spelled), I'd much rather it be set in another country all together with differences on laws and all of that so its a little different than the original. I just worry that it will be more of the same. Having another modern day slayer in America isn't that exciting to me.

FYI for those not in the know, Monica Breen has very strong AoS ties.
