The odd number seasons the Main Antagonist is male and the even number are female.
1. John Garrett/Clairvoyant 2. Jiaying 3. Grant Ward/Hive 4. AIDA/Madame Hydra/Ophelia 5. Glenn Talbot/Graviton
So will the next one be female?

One might argue that Whitehall was the main antagonist of S2. Not only was he the de facto villain of the first half, but it were also his actions that turned Jiaying into such a cold and ruthless person.

I'd also have to add characters like Kasius (even if he was a prissy dick), and Malick. They were each the antagonist of their own arc. |

I'd also have to add characters like Kasius (even if he was a prissy dick), and Malick. They were each the antagonist of their own arc. Also, Gonzalez, Lash, Rosalind, and Talbot in other seasons... You could argue against these people being antagonists for any number of reasons, but none of them were entirely loyal to Coulson's team and had at one time been completely against Coulson's team. |

I'll be spending next weekend with some family I like and trying to avoid any remotely controversial conversations with others that I spend the rest of the year avoiding
