Bored?
I'm consolidating some disk (I have a flaky 4TB disk, and am combining that with another 4TB disk onto an 8TB disk...), and on one of those disks are my uncompressed DVD source images. So for laughs, I transcribed the introduction for my second attempt at creating video and uploaded it to my site. It pretty much explains my moniker.
It's 153MB (6:19 long), de-interlaced NTSC 480i video. I won't upload to Youtube, since 90% of the score was... uh... borrowed from non public domain sources. .
Make no mistake, these are nothing more than high-tech home movies. I've often described it as "what an idiot with a camcorder and a computer can do these days".

Okay, I'm bored.
While the copy was completing, I was able to open my old 2005 project and fixed the title card that had some old outdated information on it. (Like an obsolete e-mail address.) I re-rendered, exported and transcribed the intro to mp4.
This one was actually a single road trip, all shot in DV. It's still de-interlaced NTSC 480i video, but at least there's no analog, so there's no annoying inter-frame artifacts.
Anyway, I found doing video was a lot like programming PC's. A lot of stub-processing and creative work-arounds to make things work, lol...
Wishes Nighttime Spectacular. Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World
Wishes was Magic Kingdom's "Kiss Goodnight" from 2003 to 2017. The show's soundtrack was digital, so I could completely overlay the soundtrack over the fireworks explosions and crowd noise. Like all other Magic Kingdom shows, it is all about Disney. (As opposed to say, Illuminations, which I'll post later.) No one does fireworks like Disney.
Even if you've seen the show, it probably wasn't like this.
There might be a pause at the start as the video buffers, but it should play alright after the initial pause. Let me know if it doesn't. (The server my web site is on isn't a streaming server.)
This is full ATSC HD, 1920x1080@8mbs, captured on HDV. Best seen fullscreen.
ayanami: Also, yes, Iain deserves constant praise, always! And for the Doctor in particular. Chilling role!

Jemma Simmons: Right? I always think the same thing when I see a movie that was adapted from source material but has been changed so much that it's unrecognizable.
Nov 24, 2024 23:08:46 GMT
ayanami: I gotta admit that "World War Z" is an incredibly cool name, but still, seems a bit pricey if you're just gonna ignore the whole rest of the novel.
Nov 24, 2024 23:10:42 GMT
ayanami: The book sounds really cool btw. It's about one guy 10 years after the zombie outbreak gathering different perspectives from a bunch of survivors, so you have like a dozen different stories/settings in the novel. Plus, the author is actually Mel Brooks'...
Nov 24, 2024 23:12:58 GMT
ayanami: ...son and apparently there's an audio book version of the novel featuring a bunch of Hollywood talents! (Gotta have connections in life! )
Nov 24, 2024 23:13:41 GMT
Jemma Simmons: What?! That's wild! I'll have to check into it!
Nov 24, 2024 23:14:18 GMT
Jemma Simmons: Sounds way more interesting than the movie, anyway!
Nov 24, 2024 23:14:32 GMT
Jemma Simmons: Oh, just FYI, next weekend is a holiday weekend here, so I won't be able to be around.
Nov 24, 2024 23:15:41 GMT
ayanami: Absolutely! Which makes it even more bewildering that they went with such a lame clichéd Hollywood story instead. Which, btw, is actually getting a sequel next year. Who'd have thunk it?!
Nov 24, 2024 23:17:08 GMT
ayanami: Ah, alright, thanks for the heads up.
Nov 24, 2024 23:18:07 GMT
Jemma Simmons: Yeah, that's something I've noticed lately too. Why the sudden need for sequels for 20-30 year old movies? Most of the time they're crap and I'd definitely rather see new material.
Nov 24, 2024 23:20:11 GMT
ayanami: I think I'm gotta call it a night now, though. I've got kind of an early morning coming up tomorrow and it's getting late over here.
Nov 24, 2024 23:20:18 GMT
Jemma Simmons: Alrighty! You have a good couple of weeks then! I'll be spending next weekend with some family I like and trying to avoid any remotely controversial conversations with others that I spend the rest of the year avoiding
Nov 24, 2024 23:21:10 GMT
ayanami: Tbf, World War Z is "only" from 2013, but yeah, I get your drift. Answer: Hollywood producers are all a bunch of chicken sh*ts, who only want to invest money into stuff with a recognisable name and a good track record, so only sequels, prequels and reboots
Nov 24, 2024 23:22:41 GMT
ayanami: From now until eternity!
Nov 24, 2024 23:22:53 GMT
Jemma Simmons: Heh, yeah that sounds about right!
Nov 24, 2024 23:23:16 GMT
Jemma Simmons: I will make an exception for the new Gladiator movie. I've heard it's actually pretty good!
Nov 24, 2024 23:23:33 GMT
ayanami: Yeah, I hope you have a fun few weeks and a nice family time. And don't choke on the turkey! I'll see you around, bosslady!
