I have to admit, I liked the show. Some parts kind of lost my attention, but I enjoyed it.
But I had issues with the way it ended.
1. I was not happy that Burnham got a clear record, a medal, and, essentially, her job back. They do remember that she started a war and was responsible for the loss of 1000's of lives right?
It's the same thing I say about Picard after Locutus, and another lead of a TV show after a certain point in their third season:
DON'T GIVE THEM THEIR JOB BACK!
2. One of my favorite characters ended up being Cornwall so I was not happy with her or Sarek for going with the Empress's plan.
3. I really, really, wanted Prime Lorca to make an appearance, or at least have the show make a reference that he was alive in the Mirror Universe. They never proved he was dead, they only speculated it. I have to confess, that very much bothered me. I actually really did like Lorca. Even when I knew his true origin.
4. I know these arguments are unpopular some circles of the ST fandom, but I wish more was done to 'contain' the Mirror Universe. With the Empress running free around the Prime Universe, it's now very unlikely that Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise wouldn't have knowledge of it in 10 years.
Now, I will say, there was one thing in the penultimate episode I did enjoy:
They mentioned my favorite Captain! Hello, Captain Archer AKA the first President of the Federation!
Although, in that same reference, they mentioned he and his crew had been on the Klingon home world, and then in the next episode, they said they had no idea of what that home world was like. How could that be if Archer and his crew were there?

Honestly, I was very disappointed with the season finale. (It's not the series finale, btw, 'cause you made it sound like it.) I thought the show had had a very strong run, especially in the second half of the season, but the finale just fell entirely flat in comparison. I could live with the lack of action, if we had at least gotten tension in some other form. But there wasn't any, it was just boring as hell! (Oh, and I get why Star Fleet put the Emperor on that mission, but putting a Terran war criminal, who is basically Hitler in command of Discovery? Wtf? (I also have massive issues as to why Michael was so chummy with her, for the same reasons, but that's for a different thread.)) So instead of closing the show's first season with a bang, they chose to go with a whimper instead. One more dress-up, one more speech about humanity, one more "we-have-feelings-for-each-other-but-it's-complicated" between Michael and not-Tyler. *yawn* Been there, done that. A couple of times, really. And then L'Rell, realising full well that Michael will not go through with destroying Qo'noS, accepts her enemies' terms and blackmails herself to the top of the Klingon foodchain? And the other Klingons go along with that?? No-one questions if the chick, who vows to want nothing but the unification of her species is actually willing to kill billions of her own people? No-one wonders that she's using Star Fleet tech to do so? True Klingons would have told her to f- off and gone on to conquer earth, what with their fleet already being on the solar system's doorsteps. But no, the war is now over, neatly tidied up and swept under the rug, apparently. Because at least on Earth there's not even a trace that Star Fleet has been in a loosing battle for at least a year now, and all those extreme losses we saw just an episode ago don't really seem to affect anything. Man, am I pissed at this finale. What a joke!! Oh, and by the way, you can be absolutely certain that we will see Lorca again, whose presence was already thoroughly missed if you ask me. There's still Star Fleet Lorca, who's unaccounted for (and Cornwall's assumption that no Star Fleet officer would be able to survive in the mirror-verse alone is hardy death sentence; more like the opposite), and of course the Terran Lorca. Yes, true, he was shanked by the Emperor and thrown into her ship's spore drive, but exactly there lies the chance to seeing him again, even if not as a regular. Because according to Dr. Colber, nothing in the mycelial network is ever truly gone. And he should know!
