I just thought of something that hadn't really occurred to me before:
Doesn't what 'Seer Elena' said completely contradict what Robin said?
Robin said, "Phillip J. Coulson. He can put the pieces together."
Then Elena says that Coulson is dying and they have to let him and then goes on to explain that trying to keep Coulson alive the first time is what led to the earth's destruction.
Do these two things contradict eachother? Or do they confirm that keeping Coulson alive will break the loop? Or, was Robin not talking about Coulson at all and only said his name to get his attention?
-This is all theoretical of course, since Coulson isn't dying.

I will start by saying that I do not see Coulson dying either unless (1) Clark Gregg is leaving the show, or (2) the powers-that-be have let it be known to the writers that this will be the last season of the show.
If Coulson does die, the simplest answer is that Coulson brings "the pieces" together through a heroic sacrifice, knowing that he is dying anyway. The world is destroyed because the team stops him.

I never said CG was leaving (theorhetically). This is a comic book show so they could (theorhetically) *kill* Coulson and still keep CG. I (theorhetically) can see them actually killing him. But will he stay dead is the question. This thread was mostly made because I was having a hard time reconciling Past-Future YoYo's words with Robin's.
