Was this the price Phil had to pay to the Spirit of Vengeance? His lifetime was reduced?
I had not read any spoilers, but I have a feeling that's what is happening.

Wait, are you saying you have seen the most recent episode or not?
I wanna write you a reply but need to know if you have or not.

The centerpoint of the 'rash' is right where Loki's staff went through. I'd be more inclined to think it had something to do with the GH 325 or Chitauri scepter than the Spirit of Vengeance. I feel like if this has anything to deal with the deal, or if the deal is the cause of it, his illness wouldn't be so subtle and wouldn't manifest itself *that* particular spot.

If that is the case, then it could be due to a certain object a certain mischief maker took from a certain vault near the end of T:R.

Am I the only one who thinks that what's happening with Coulson might be due to that one guy attacking him? You know, the guy oozing black goo from everywhere, and suddenly Coulson has this weird black rash or whatever that he doesn't want to tell anyone about? Seems like a weird coincidence, if Coulson's condition was caused by something else entirely, like his Ghost Rider deal for example.

Nah, the one scene last episode, that talk he had with May in the Trawler in 5x03, the fact that he has been single-minded about Daisy getting her Powers (so she can lead), and the fact that he told Robbie "he'll tell them when it's time" tells me he has known all season... ...that he was going to finally read Ulysses, he just didn't know he'd be doing it in the future...
