I know it's not the most important thing in the world, but... Does anyone else who remembers the days when newspapers and magazines had proofreaders miss that aspect of those days?

I'm in a University "We need to make sure you can form a sentence without emojis and abbreviations" class at school and it's weird for the Professor because most of us are English majors so we told her we would purposely form sentences like that if it she wanted us to. She kindly declined.

I'd be making sentences with words that use words that are more commonly abbreviated than not, like Mister and 'National Security Agency'.

The normal, real, abbreviations are fine.

Is that even still being used now with the full 'keyboards' and word suggestions? 4 the most part, I thought that was mostly a pre-smartphone thing, though even in the pre-texting days we used to come up with things like this just to see if people could read them: MRDogs ARNot CMPN OICMPN MRDogs

I'm dyslexic so I can't read those abbreviations (text talk) nor do I use them.

Afaik, even plp w/ computers might write that stupidly sometimes. Iirc, I could have even used it myself. JK, I'd never do that! Soo, gtg, cu around!
