Saw the last few minutes of the game show before AoS. HOW DID THAT IDIOT NOT KNOW WEEBLES? And boy, those kids were brutal. "I resign. I don't want to do this anymore!" I'm with that guy...
Anyway, on with the show. We have to be getting close to the end of the arc. Things are flying by at a furious pace. I can usually judge how good an ep was by how fast it goes by (probably how absorbed I get into the story), and this one FLEW by...
Enoch turns comic relief, and did a pretty good job! He had most of the best lines of the night.
May gives Enoch a Mack nickname.
May: Hey Plastic. Make yourself useful. Secure this in the back.
Enoch: Plastics are quite useful, if not often appreciated.
Exterior shot of the surface, where something falls to Earth and pieces hit the Zephyr.
Daisy: I think that was a hospital.
Enoch: Is this your first time you've had a building dropped on you?
May: No!
The engines on the Zephyr fail.
Fitz: ...we can't take off.
Enoch: As was previously advised, we should now evacuate to the caves. I'll go first.
Enoch: The sensation of death is one I have yet to experience.
May: Maybe I can help you with that. (I love May's cheery outlook on life.)
Enoch as the straight guy:
Enoch: As the gravitational forces accelerate, our chances of implosion are rapidly increased.
May: Tell me your primary function again?
Enoch: To observe and record the evolution of your species.
May: More observing, less sharing.
Ah May, just like a mother.
Enoch: If I had a stomach, the vomiting would begin now.
After they're out of the gravity storm:
Enoch: A sound plan, indeed.
Has anyone noticed that Enoch and Deke are getting all the lines Hunter would be spewing?
May can believe she saves the planet, but can't believe she was a Mom to Robin?
Daisy's best line: "Yeah, you'd be that no phone, no TV, seven-thirty curfew kinda Mom. I'm proving my point with the face..." Funny how May didn't think it was funny. I did. So did Coulson.
I am back to not trusting Deke. He did save Daisy from the Kreeper, but I'm sure he's thinking about what Voss said. Oh, yeah, Sinara. How cool is a Zero G fight? I'm not sure the writers actually understood the "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction" thing, though. But it was a nice death. She could have at least done the trope and grabbed at the pole as she died...
Tess back alive. Ugh. She and Coulson should get together to discuss being dead. And that's it. Casius needs to die painfully, slowly, and...painfully... I think the last character I wanted that to happen to was Ward. And Aida. And Jiaying. Well, most of the big bads, I guess. But the bringing someone back to life just to kill them again, should earn him special place in hell. Hear me Robbie? Make it so...
Daisy doesn't think the inhibitor should be removed? Is she actually beginning to think she did it? I think that reveal by Voss was a big one:
Voss: History. There was a light in the sky. Aliens is what I heard. SHIELD tried to stop it and failed. Brought Hell to Earth.
I guess most of SHIELD is intact (at least the post-Mace SHIELD), but I would have thought it would have been the Avengers. Is this Infinity War foretelling?
Gravitonium on the Zephyr. Of Fitz's design. *That's* what changes Fitz's mind about anything being possible. And they're using it to justify how the Earth looks, addressing all of my complaints about the physics of the world.
Fitz: We can fly in space through to the Lighthouse.
Deke: No, right? That's a bad idea, right? Could that actually work?
Fitz: Assuming we don't get crushed by debris...
Simmons: come back into the ground...
Fitz: or our thrusters don't run out of power...
Simmons: and fall into the void, we're in!
Deke: I used to be really good at self-preservation!
It's nice to see FitzSimmons acting as one again. And of course, later while they're getting beat up by the gravity storm:
Simmons: This is a terrible idea, I'm sorry!
Man up, Jemma.
So Casius remembers Yo-Yo from 2022, and the Zephyr flies again. Cassius is super pissed, and knows the Zephyr is coming. He says he has his own "seer". Did Casius bring Virgil back to life? Worse, could it be Mack or Coulson? How much did Yo-Yo tell Casius in 2022?
Coulson getting knocked in the temple concerns me. I've got a bad feeling Coulson and Mack are going to die, especially after the preview. And the only way they're going to be saved, is if the Team saves the Earth and changes history. I mean the future.
And the ending. (Star Wars reference.)
Mack: Oh, no, no, no. Ass kicking's just begun.
Blows up the cart with the Terrigen on it, and Casius lets out a Vadar like "NOOOOOOOOO!"
