Overall, I like the show. Stays pretty true to X-Men lore and theme. VFX are slightly above average and do a decent job of representing the mutants' powers. Some people may think that there's overused trope(s), and they're probably right. Those tropes, however are typical of, and straight from the comics; so, I can live with that. I know many of us have spoken out about the "powered people vs the world" and "must hunt down all powered people" tropes - and I don't disagree; they're overused. But... and this is a big BUT.... The X-Men universe is the one place where those "tropes" actually belong. I know other comic books have touched on it in their histories, but it has always been integral in the X-Men universe. Xenophobia is as much a character in The X-Men as Professor X, Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops and all the others. Anyway, S1 ended with a few twists that should make for an exciting S2. I'll be tuning in for sure.
