Since I'm now going to be writing an extensive recap and outline of every AoS episode for the Level 7 Access podcast, I thought I may as well share them here so that my hardwork can be read by as many people as possible. (Especially since both episodes took me nearly 6 hours).
5x01
Act 1.
First Scene Montage:
‘Talking Heads’ plays (I’m bad with music, don’t know the name of the song)
Children’s drawings are shown.
The Team’s Abductor, named ‘Captain’ according to IMDB:
Swims in a pool, and then contemplates life at the bottom.
Sheds his human skin (as you do)
Takes a shower
Puts human skin back on.
Drives a car to a warehouse or hangar empty of everything but a non-descript white van.
Gets out of his car, hands a guy in a blue jumpsuit a piece of paper.
Blue Jumpsuit guy uses a tablet to turn on a holographic decal.
The decal changes the logo until it lands on Bendeery Ale
Inside the Van, there is a unit of agents/soldiers in black tactical gear.
The ‘Captain’ is handed the team-freezing device and ear plugs.
END MONTAGE
At ‘Rae’s Diner’ we see the outside of the diner at the time the Team was taken.
Agents get all sneaky, sneaky with their rifles drawn.
The ‘Captain’ and a few men go inside.
We see two agents standing guard outside.
Guard on the right: “Haven’t done one of these in a while. You?”
Guard on the left: *shakes head*
Guard on the right: “My wife thinks I’m at a friend’s house for a Fantasy draft. It doesn’t
even occur to her that it’s the middle of the season…Doesn’t even
occur to her…”
We see Coulson being wheeled out on a dolly.
The ‘Captain’ appears.
Younger Agent: “We left one sitting at the counter, sir.”
‘Captain’: “Yeah, not on the list.”
Mack is shown wheeled out after the rest of the team.
With the team loaded up in the back of the van, the agents drive away as the power to the diner is restored.
And now sugar honey ice and tea gets weird.
Plastic sheets are taken off the team, mainly Coulson who is the focal point.
There’s distant chatter as the sound ramps up. Someone is giving directions. ‘Watch the clock.’. ‘The window is fast approaching.’
The team unfreezes. All take deep breaths.
Coulson looks to May. He asks, “Is everyone alright?”
Behind him we see the rest of the team sans Fitz.
He then looks to Simmons and sees her staring in fear as Mack says, “Yeah, I think so.” He looks in the same direction and sees a giant white monolith with red stripes on the upper portion.
The monolith activates and then space happens.
In slow motion, Coulson sees a breached window. Two guys, one of them Virgil, are in the air, holding onto things to keep them from being sucked into space. He moves closer to get a good look.
As time speeds up back to real-time, he connects the dots and grabs onto something as well.
Time speeds up completely. There’s a beeping alarm going off. He must grab onto something with his right hand too.
Virgil manages to push a button on the wall while he’s in the air. The door begins to close and all three fall to the ground.
Virgil: “Are you out of your skull!? What the hell are you doing bowing the damn
window!?”
The Other Guy: “It’s called Improvisation”
Virgil: “What are you suicidal? You want to be a vacancy?”
Coulson pushes himself off the floor confused.
The Other Guy: “Couldn’t see another way to kill that thing. We’re safe now, Okay.
What happened to the other guy you hired?
Virgil: “The other guy I hired isn’t safe. He’s frozen in the vacuum of space!”
The Other Guy: “Yeah? Well I’ll take his cut too. Relax you can keep his rations.”
Coulson: “Hi.”
The Other Guy: *Turns around and draws gun* “What the hell?”
Coulson: *Raises hands* “Don’t shoot, thanks!”
Virgil recognizes Coulson.
Virgil: “Oh my god you’re here.”
Coulson: *Confused* That I’m slowly figuring out. Sorry I think I might be a little
confused.” *Lowers hands cautiously*
Virgil: “Disoriented. Of course. It’s a long journey. I don’t know how you travelled here
but I knew it wasn’t going to be first class.” *Exhales, smiles* “You’re here,
Agent Coulson of SHIELD. You’ve come to save us.”
Coulson: “Yeah, just to clarify. Where is ‘here’? Who is ‘us’? And from ‘what’?”
Scary sounds in the distance.
The Other Guy: *Grabs Virgil and Coulson* “Move! Let’s go!”
Virgil: *Stops moving* “Wait, wait, wait, the others! Where are the others? You
Weren’t the only one to travel through, were you?”
Coulson: “I don’t think so. Um, I’m sorry, what was that?”
Virgil: “Gravitational flux must’ve messed with their entry. We got to wait for the rest of
‘em, okay?”
The Other Guy: “You’ll have to triple my tokens to get me to stay a minute longer.”
*Goes to a door, opens it* “One of those roaches gets us, you’ll pay me
to shoot you in the head.” *A roach gets him*
Coulson and Virgil watch in horror. Coulson looks like he is having a mini panic attack. Virgil goes to the door and closes and bolts it.
Virgil goes to Coulson and pushes him back. “Stay back. Shhh.”
Coulson resists him as Virgil asks him to be quiet.
Coulson: “Alright, that’s enough. Can we.. i’d like to know, if you don’t mind, what is
is happening here? Please.”
Virgil: *Calms down somewhat* “Okay, yeah, sorry, I didn’t know how much you knew
about our current situation.”
Coulson: “Zero. Walk me through it like I’m a child. Like I’m a foreign child.”
Virgil: “Right. That was a V’Rellnexian. We call them roaches. They can surf gravity
storms. They’ve been able to breach a few years back. This level’s been sealed up
ever since then. It’s my first time here.”
Coulson: “And who are you?”
Virgil: “Right, sorry, stupid me.” *Facepalms* “My name is Virgil. I’m the greeting
party. And a fan.”
Coulson: “Good to have a name, Virgil, but looking for big picture here. I mean who are
you?”
Virgil: “I’m one of the true believers.”
Coulson: “Believers in what?”
Virgil: “You.” *Mack fist comes from nowhere.*
Virgil is KOed.
Coulson: “Mack!”
Mack: “You okay? What the hell is going on?”
Coulson: “I was about to find out.”
Mack: “Oh. My bad. I see a crazy looking guy hovering over you with a gun, I acted on
Impulse. Where’d that rock send us?”
Coulson: “I don’t have that many details, but I know we’re in space.”
Mack: “Yeah, that makes sense. It’s the one thing we haven’t done yet. All right, so
Where is everyone else?”
The scene cuts to YoYo who appears. She looks around for a few seconds before a person in a gas mask comes from behind her. YoYo goes on the offensive and gets ready to kick but stops once she realizes it’s Simmons.
Simmons: *Takes off gas mask* “What on earth were you…I’m lucky there were no
knives.”
YoYo: “What the hell were you doing with that mask? Trying to give me a heart attack?”
Simmons: “I wasn’t sure the air was safe in here.” *Gestures to the dead bodies on the
ground. * “They were trying to get out. I thought maybe it was for air but
I saw this mask on the ground…I guess not.”
Simmons bends down and starts to pull a dead body towards her and then take something from it.
YoYo: “Do you really…Is that the smartest thing?”
Simmons: “They’re already dead. There’s nothing to be afraid of.”
YoYo: “Of course not.”
YoYo then says that the people look like the Incan Mummies. Simmons says yeah and that they look like they’ve been dead for a long while and that their absent all interstitial fluid. They’re dehydrated which is what is preserving them.
YoYo asks if they were dehydrated by being frozen. Simmons answers that they’ve been drained.
YoYo: “Really? They’re already dead. There’s nothing to be afraid of? What sucks a
human dry?”
Mack: “Aliens.”
Mack and Coulson come through the door, dragging/carrying Virgil.
Mack and YoYo hug. Mack says he’s not happy that YoYo is with him. Mack tells YoYo and Simmons that Coulson says they’re in space. Coulson is on the floor, seeing if Mack didn’t punch his lights out for good.
Simmons: *sighs* “Not again.” *Deep breath* “All right, any idea which part of space
we’re in?”
Coulson: *stands up* “Uh, outer?”
YoYo asks Coulson if he saw an alien. Coulson answers that he saw what one can do. Simmons says they have no idea what kind of creature they were trying to get away from (and calls Coulson sir). Coulson responds that the question he’s asking is; “Who locked them in?”
Scene changes to the room with the breached window from before. Deke enters from outside wearing a StarLord-esque helmet.
Cue new Title Card.
Act 2 (From here on out I’ll try to cut down the length. No promises though.)
May has been dropped by the Monolith in a room by herself. She is pinned by machinery with a piece of metal going through her leg on two ends. When she hears the roaches in the distance she says, “’Cause this wasn’t fun enough.” She then bends down and takes a belt from a dead body, wraps it around a piece of the machinery, and starts to pull.
The scene changes to Mack and Coulson putting Virgil on the chair. Mack is grumbling about Coulson not having his robo-hand. Coulson says, “All right, I get it.” Mack then asks what good a state of the art robot hand is, if you don’t have it on you when you’re kidnapped by Martians.
Coulson is only half listening as he snaps his fingers (with his right hand) trying to wake up Virgil.
YoYo says that it looks like Coulson has both hands to her. Mack explains that that is his ‘civvie’ hand. It is then established that Coulson is not Inspector Gadget and that he thought he would be arrested so he didn’t want to bring a hand that would get confiscated in prison. “Prison is hard enough when you’re not down an appendage.”
Mack has a mini mental break down. Brings up being in the Framework not a day ago and then says, “You know what Coulson? I’m out. We get through this I am packing it in.”
Coulson is still preoccupied with Virgil and says, “Sorry Mack. You already quit years ago,”
Mack answers that he didn’t quit hard enough and says he is not comfortable with the rate they experience new trials and tribulations.
Simmons says, “Believe it or not, Mack, this is not new for me. I’ve been hurled through space by a monolith before. The best thing we can do is keep our heads and apply the scientific method.”
Coulson agrees and then asks if the people were human. Simmons says they were humanoid at least which is good because it means they weren’t the first ones there. They also have no ID’s. She then asks if Fury said anything about a human outpost. Coulson says there wasn’t in the Toolbox.
YoYo asks if SHIELD had a space division. Coulson shakes his head no.
YoYo: “Really? I always thought you had people hiding on the moon.”
Coulson tries to wake up Virgil again and then asks Mack how hard he hit him. Mack replies that he hit him as hard as he could. “I don’t half hit people.”
Coulson makes a funny look as he listens to him. Simmons asks what Virgil said before Mack hit him. Coulson answers, “He said we were coming here to serve a purpose.” YoYo asks if that purpose is food. Coulson says no and, “He said we were here to save them.” He then hands Simmons something that he found on Virgil. Jemma says she does not know what it is.
Phil then finds a rumpled post card on Virgil and hands it to Simmons. (I can’t read the writing and don’t know where it was from). They then decide that either Virgil is a human or he ate one and that this must be a human outpost. Fed up with the world, Mack mumbles that he should have been a fireman.
Cutting back to May, we see her finally break free with enough time to hide as the doors are beginning to break open.
Back to the heroic four. Virgil slowly comes to. Once he’s fully awake he weirds out everybody, and even angers Mack, when he knows their names and, even Elena’s nick name.
He tells Simmons that Fitz is thinking of her and knows that she is from BioChem.
Mack demands to know how he knows who they are. Virgil explains, “I’ve been studying you for years, your history.” (It should be noted here that the closed captions say ‘your history’, as opposed to ‘you’re history’). He further explains that he always believed the stories were true, even though ‘they’ tried to take that last bit away from him. After prompting from Coulson, he continues to say the roaches are an “anomaly, a glitch in the plan” and that the team are here to save humanity.
Virgil’s last words before being sliced through the skull and pulled away are, “This will make a lot more sense once I show you…”
The team watches in quick horror and then make a run for it, Mack must grab Coulson’s shoulder and pull him out as Coulson states, “Got to let that guy finish a sentence.”
The four runs down a corridor as the roach gives chase. Elena, who had grabbed the gun that Virgil had had earlier, takes a shot as she runs backwards, but the creature avoids it by simultaneously on the ceiling and walls. They reach a dead end and the gun stops working. Mack gets ready to throw his (wrench?) at the creature as it jumps straight at them but…
Daisy quakes it mid-air.
Daisy: “Right?”
Coulson: “Yes, that was right, And not the only one.”
Back to May. She watches as Deke moves a body, searches it, loots something, and then cuts a Metric from its arm. Deke then leaves the room, and only a few seconds after, May follows.
She is ambushed by Deke who pushes her against the wall and holds a knife up to her before saying, “I’ve been looking for you.”
Act 3
Deke and May fight. Deke pulls a dick move and kicks May right in the leg injury before declaring that he didn’t want to hurt her but the idea is starting grow on him. May regains her fighting stance as Deke also says, “I deserve better than this.” (and he’s an actor named Ward!) Sorry had to go there.)
May continues to fight him with curved pointy things (hooks from something?). She is winning until he puts the anti-gravity purple things on her back and stomach and pins her to the wall.
Deke then verbalizes that he’s surprised May held her own so well since she “packs a punch for such a small package” (in other words, he’s amazed he got his ass kicked by a tiny little Asian woman). He also says he hates wasting the charge on the purple thing and that he “honestly didn’t want to hurt her” but she had a lead pipe at the ready and…May kicks him upside the head.
Annoyed, Deke says he’ll stick to the first impression. May starts to say that she doesn’t know what he did to those dead people or why she was dragged here but…Deke gags her. He doesn’t want to anything. “The less I know, the better.”
Back with the other 5, this conversation happens:
Daisy: “So, is there anything you want to fill us in on Coulson? ’Cause now’s the time.”
Coulson: *confused* “You know what I know.”
Daisy: “This doesn’t have anything to do with the little bargain you made with the Ghost
Rider?”
Mack: “Yeah, that thing doesn’t ride for free. There has to be some price.”
Coulson: “Nope. This is all new to me. Sorry. It’s –That’s just the reality.”
YoYo: “Well maybe this isn’t reality. Maybe someone put us back in the Framework and
this is a simulation.”
Everyone collectively groans and loses their sugar honey ice and tea at this idea.
Coulson: “Oh my god, if I even think about that my brain will explode.”
Simmons, as the voice of reason: “Again, let’s not just postulate. Let’s apply scientific
principles and consider the evidence we have.
Mack: “Look this is magic. Can we all agree this is magic at play?”
Simmons: “Magi is just science we don’t understand yet.”
Mack: “Ah please. We just got zapped through space by Stonehenge, and we’re gonna
rule out the involvement of a flame-headed demon from east L.A.? Science my
ass.” *Turns to YoYo* “Now let me see that gun. Maybe I can try to get it
working.”
Simmons: *quieter, to Daisy* “Fitz would agree, but apparently, he didn’t get taken.”
Daisy: “No. At least, he wasn’t in the room with the monolith I was the last to go
through”
Simmons: “Well, that’s some relief. He’s safe from this, better off than we are.”
Daisy: “Yeah. You okay?”
Simmons: “Fine. What, do you think he isn’t better off? He has to be.”
Daisy: “No, that’s not what I’m saying.”
Simmons: “Or that he did something drastic? He wouldn’t do that. He was right there
with us at the diner.”
Daisy: “No, I’m not saying any of that. It’s just you guys are constantly torn apart.”
Simmons: “Cursed, as he would say. Well, I’m not afraid he isn’t here. I’m thrilled. He’s
no doubt working this problem, probably trying to get a message to us right now.
Better for everyone that he isn’t here.”
Daisy: *Louder, to everyone* “Yeah, well, May did get pulled through. I saw it. So, we
should find her.”
Coulson: “We should split up.”
Mack: “Aw, hell, no. No, no. Yeah, let’s not do that. We are sticking together 100%.
Haven’t you ever seen an alien movie?”
Daisy: “Mack, it’s the best way to cover the most ground.”
Mack: *pointing and gesturing to Daisy* “Okay, you see, you see, that is exactly what
they say before they get picked off one by one, and you know who the first one
will be.”
Coulson looks from Mack to Daisy.
Daisy: “It’s your call, boss.”
The camera cuts to them huddled together in the corridor, Daisy, front and center. Coulson from the back-right remarks that “this has to be the coolest we’ve ever looked.”
The camera cuts again to Deke who is lighting a road flare and then throwing outside the door. He has May sitting on the floor with her legs stretched out and tied with ropes around her torso and arms. She is still gagged. He explains that he thinks the smell of the flare drives the roaches away.
Deke threatens to leave her for the roaches if she kicks him again. He warns her that “this will hurt like hell”. He then adds that you “can’t go 10 feet in this sector without a Metric.” Then, using his knife to cut into her arm, he inserts a Metric. She screams through her gag.
We cut back to the team. They come to a corner. Daisy has YoYo scout up ahead. She says that it is all clear for now.
Jemma and Coulson talk about the infrastructure of this place. Coulson says that the place looks like a lot of work goes into keeping it running and that it looks to be man-made. Simmons mentions the atmosphere and simulated gravity and the machinery she thinks is used for reclaiming water. She wonders if this is a colony. Coulson brings up that the plasma gun doesn’t seem to be man-made and he doesn’t think this place was man-made without some outside help. They talk about the approximate age of the place. Coulson wonders if it was a program started in the 80’s with Howard Stark. He then says, “That doesn’t feel right.”
Mack (and his monkey wrench) comes to them and says, “YoYo found something.” It’s the flare that Deke left outside the door.
Inside the room, Coulson finds blood on the floor and May’s jacket. He says that May would’ve put up a fight.
Daisy sees computer terminals which are labeled “water reclamation.” As he walks past her, Coulson tells Simmons, “You were right, Jemma.”
Jemma then looks directly at Mack: “I figured it out using magic.”
At the computer, Daisy says they can use it to track May, Simmons notes that it’s in English and that they’re using the software to track a debris fields called ‘frozen oceans’. “They’re collecting water from ice in space. This is a colony.”
With this knowledge, they decide they are close enough to Earth for people to travel here and that this colony has a space craft which means they have a way to communicate with Earth. By flying above the debris field to send a message to Fitz, (A laser based rapid transmission system was the sciencey jargon). Now they will find a ship, and find May.
Daisy goes to use the computer again. It’s species-ist and denies her access. Writing appears, and Coulson says he doesn’t recognize the language.
Just then, some Kree burst through the door. Mack and Elena are quick to attack. One of the Kree has had enough of this and shoots his gun at a weird angle up high. This sends out a burst of energy or gas of some kind, and they are knocked out.
Act 4.
Coulson and Jemma are seen sitting on a bench in a cell. Daisy wakes up on another bench. She asks about Mack and Yo-Yo. Neither of her cell mates verbally answer.
The Kree guards, sounding so menacey, talk about leaving these ‘transgressors’ to the floor or letting them be used as ‘He’ needs.
Daisy goes to the door and demands to know what they’ll do to their friends. One of them answers, “Whatever we want. Experiment?...They knew the rule, and they broke it.” They then go on to say that humans always beg for their lives.
Hanging up by their arms (as you do on this show) we now see Mack and YoYo. Mack tells his girlfriend that he wishes she had run away with her super speed. Elena remarks that her power only works by her going back to where she started which can be annoying,
Two Kree enter. One puts down their nice axe. Mack asks if they speak English. One Kree answers in the affirmative and Mack proceeds to ask that they let her go. For his question, Mack gets a punch to the gut because the Kree doesn’t want to hear English, even though he can speak it.
In Spanish, Mack says to Elena, “How about we see how Papa Smurf here feels about a little Spanish?” Mack gets punched again.
Back in the cell, Coulson (who is still holding May’s jacket), Daisy, and Simmons, are running theories. Simmons’ new theory is that the Kree have been abducting humans and running experiments. She references the Inhuman experiments.
Daisy says she won’t be staying to find out and begins to quake the door. She doesn’t need to because it is opened by a Kree guard. They all see May who is being held by Deke.
Coulson gets excited to see May but goes wide-eyed at the sight of Deke.
Deke immediately plays a trick on the guard and pretends to know Coulson, Daisy, and Simmons. He whispers to them, “Just go with it.” Part of Deke’s cover story is that the four got caught up in a scam by Virgil involving some tokens. Deke refers to May (with a bad touch) who is supporting her weight on a wall and says that she came to him looking for help. Then to Coulson, Deke asks where Virgil is. Coulson breaks the bad news. Deke responds to news with, “Good, he got what he deserves for dragging these transfers into the wet works just to steal their Metrics.” He then grabs Coulson’s (right) hand and smears some blood on it and holds it up. “So he’s just roach food, right?” Coulson answers that was what he was going to say.
Looking at Simmons and Daisy, he says, “Guys what did I say about trusting Virgil?” They give the same answer but worded differently.
Deke then goes to the guard and tries to convince him to let Deke take care of them. Behind him we see Coulson go to May and help her put on her jacket. Deke bribes the guard with time in the Framework (but we obviously don’t realize that when we first see the episode).
The guard accepts the bribe (sound familiar?) and the team follows Deke in single file.
We go back to Mack and YoYo. Mack is taking all the beatings so that Elena can get herself free. In Spanish he tells her to “feel free to wiggle out any time soon, darling.”
YoYo begs him to stop provoking them and that his Spanish has gotten much better. Mack responds that Spanish was mandatory at Hope’s school. The Kree jerk-face goes to punch Mack again but he is stopped by the other Kree.
Mack is holding up well for a human and would make a good fighter at the Crater. He would make a nice gift for Kasius. The guard tells Mack that they are sparing him to provide ‘greater satisfaction’ than killing him would bring.
Elena will have to die for their transgressions. One of them breaks a pipe and points the gas (nitrogen I think) at her arms freezing them and the chain. Mack begs them to stop.
Back with the team, Coulson asks May if she is good. She says she is banged up but okay. She is limping badly. She asks, “We in space?” He answers, “That’s affirmative.” May doesn’t flinch. “Copy that.”
Deke stops at a door and wants to know what happened to Virgil. Once he knows that the roaches got him, he explains that Virgil owed him a bunch of tokens “for this job” and explains that the ‘job’ was to hide some people and swap out their Metrics. He prepares to leave them because they don’t have Metrics which means they don’t have the tokens to cover Virgil’s end.
Daisy tells him they need his help to find their friends. Deke says they attacked a Kreeper so they are as good as dead. They should make their peace with it.
Coulson (who had positioned himself behind Deke) asks Deke’s name. Then Coulson explains that “we just wanted pie and now we don’t know where we are or what’s going on, and we finally found someone who does so you’re not walking away.”
May had positioned herself behind Deke. Once they hear YoYo scream, she pulls the same stunt on Deke that he had pulled on her earlier. Deke is pinned to the wall.
Simmons asks Deke where the Trawler is. He tells them to take the lift to level 9. Then Coulson tells May to take Simmons and get that spacecraft in the air and send the signal.
Coulson wants to go with Daisy to rescue Mack and Elena, but Daisy says they can’t afford to lose their leader again. She instead advises Coulson to stay and get information from Deke.
“Submission” is what Deke tells Coulson the Kree want. In the lift, May and Simmons get an idea of how expansive the station is. They immediately surmise that this is Kree staging ground for an invasion.
Act 5.
May and Simmons are able to sneak to the trawler.
Daisy follows YoYo’s screams.
Coulson frees Deke from the wall, takes him aside, and asks for clarification on ‘submission’. He wants to know if the Kree are planning an attack against humans. Deke is genuinely confused about why the Kree would do that.
Before the Kree can freeze Elena’s arms off, Daisy comes to save the day. She quakes their arms free and their leg shackles off. Mack goes to attack a guard with the axe. The Kree smiles before YoYo kicks him in the face.
Simmons and May get the Trawler started using the thing that Coulson had found on Virgil and handed to Simmons at the beginning of the episode. Virgil had been the pilot. May flies like she’s flown a spaceship before…
Deke wonders how Coulson doesn’t know that humans built the bunker, not the Kree, because even in waste processing they know the history…
Deke: “You’re not from processing, are you?”
Coulson: “No, I was enjoying a meal and then I was taken and zapped to this place. I’m
from Earth.”
Deke: “That would be the one thing I do know, wing nut. But from where? What area?”
Coulson: “Manitowoc, Wisconsin.”
Deke: *Looks at Coulson’s eyes* “Are you high on something? Can I have some?”
Meanwhile, Daisy and Mack are able to kill the two three. Mack killed his with the axe. Daisy killed hers by quaking an icicle into him hard enough to stab him.
Mack asks if YoYo is alright and said that he was worried Elena would lose her arms. Elena says she was starting to picture herself with two hooks. Daisy can access the computer now that they have a dead Kree. She wants to use it to find the location of the Trawler.
On the Trawler, May and Simmons realize they are in the Milky Way Galaxy because Simmons recognizes some of the constellations. May says they need to get above the debris field for a clear signal.
Back with Deke and Phil, Phil is getting frustrated that the answers he’s getting continue to not make sense. He asks, “How long ago did they build this place and when did you first come here?”
Deke, also frustrated, replies, “They built it 90 some-odd years ago, minimum. And what do you mean ‘come here’? I was born here.”
Back in the computer room, the three talk about the systems being repurposed. At the same time, Coulson is telling Deke that 90 years ago “is impossible” because the tech couldn’t be invented in the 20’s.
“No Metrics, no scars, Wisconsin, pie.” Deke fills in the blanks. He wants Coulson to tell him about when they were taken. Coulson starts to answer with where, but Deke corrects him and says, “No, when? What year.”
Coulson realizes the monolith was different. “We didn’t travel through space.”
On the spacecraft, Simmons says she recognizes all of the constellations. May indicates to half a school bus floating through space and what’s left of Earth.
In the computer room, Mack hands Virgil’s tattered and folded up postcard to Daisy. It says, “Working on it” and is signed Fitz.
No Tag Scene
The end music sounds like the Blade Runner music with the synthesizer.

The end music sounds like the Blade Runner music with the synthesizer.
