I am a huge Oscar fan, so I'm ecstatic that another year's wait is finally over and the 89th Academy Awards are taking place tonight. As per usual, I've set out - and failed - to watch all the Best Picture nominees, but I've loved all the movies I did manage to see so far.
- La La Land: My personal favourite, so I'll be really happy if all the book-makers turn out to be right and this movie will take home the trophy for Best Picture and many others.
- Hidden Figures: Those were some damn smart ladies! Glad their stories were finally told.
- Arrival: Kind of a mindf**k that movie. But if we ever make contact with aliens, I vote we send Amy Adams!
- Hacksaw Ridge: The world needs more people like that! Biggest respect to the real Desmond Doss, a true hero if there's ever been one. Also, incredible movie!
- Manchester by the Sea: Yeah, okay, not exactly my kind of movie. Good acting and touching story, but all in all I found it rather boring. Also, I kind of want to punch the person who made the obnoxiously in-your-face soundtrack.
Regardless of winning chances, I'm incredibly psyched that the wonderful Ruth Negga (Raina) will be sitting in the front lines of the theater, nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role alongside movie legends such as Meryl Streep and Nathalie Portman!

You know, next time I screw up, I'll remind myself that at least I'm not *that person* who put the incorrect card in the Best Movie envelope at the Oscars! ๐

For us Lin fans: IMO, Lin should have won. And total props to Auli'l for getting hit with a flag but not letting it phase her/powering through the song

I had a chuckle when she was hit during the performance. She really didn't let it faze her, but I bet she thought something like "I will find you for this!" when it happened. Lol

Most likely whoever had the job of stuffing the envelopes did it incorrectly.
