What's a must-see during the Christmas season for you? Mine are:
1. Probably the most shown Christmas movie on TV in Germany each year (the dubbed version, though):
Three Wishes for Cinderella (1973)
2. Not exactly a Christmas movie (or a movie at all), but still a must-see around Christmas for me:
The Tenth Kingdom (2000)
3. Yeah, yeah, it's cheesy, I know!
Love... Actually (2003)

Ever since Megamind was released in 2010, it has kind of been a tradition to watch it at home every year around Christmas while parents were preparing Christmas meal. Won't post the trailer here because I just watched it and it gives away the entire movie!!!

1, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation 2. How The Grinch Stole Christmas (Live action with Jim Carrey) 3. The Muppet's Christmas Carol.
There are others, (The Family Stone, Love Actually, and the more recent version of Miracle on 34th Street) that we'll watch too, but those are less required viewing.
But let's not forget my family's tradition of watching 24 Hours of 'A Christmas Story' on TBS. We watch that every year, and usually the channel only gets changed for one of the big parades (Usually the Disney parade), and then changed back in time for Ralphie to nearly actually shoot his eye out. (Can you tell I'm not such a big fan of this tradition?)

Don't forget Die Hard. Lol, I was waiting for someone to answer that! Hope I didn't make you wait overly long. I'm guessing you've seen it, so tell me - when the bad guys speak in German, are they speaking accurately?

Pretty sure I've never seen the first movie (or any from the series, really) in the original English version, so I wouldn't know. Movies in Germany are all dubbed. But, really, do they ever speak proper German? Hardly!

However, Hans apparently didn't know his German very well. I'm actually curious how this scene was done when dubbed in German:

Christmas Vacation, Die Hard 1 or 2 (alternate years) and A Christmas Story are all traditions for my friends/family. Plus the best of SNL Christmases. Just doesn't feel like Christmas without "Clark is your house on fire?", "Yippe ki yay", "I can't put my arms down!" or "Bag o Glass".

Pretty sure the dialogue was just translated to the proper German phrase each time. German dubbing tends to ignore characters speaking German in movies/shows.

Ghosts of Christmas Eve. I'll blast this every Christmas. (And someone posted the entire DVD to YouTube. This could really use an upgrade to BluRay.)
My other Christmas movie is "We're No Angels", the 1955 version with Bogart, Peter Ustinov, Aldo Ray, Basil Rathbone... It's THE BEST CHRISTMAS MOVIE EVER MADE. It looks like it's in pieces on YouTube...
