After rewatching this episode for the first time in a long time, it was a bit jarring to see Mack and Coulson basically fighting with each other again since I'd gotten used to seeing them as partners.
Now I like Mack less than I usually do.

Mack does get on my nerves—I would go so far as to say that I am personally offended by some of his statements in "The Man behind the Shield"—but he at least has a couple of excuses in "Aftershocks." First, it was clear that being possessed over the previous two episodes greatly traumatized him. He was taking some of this out on Coulson (and Fitz, a bit in this episode and particularly in the following episode). This is not a good way to deal with trauma, but is it understandable. Also, like all the other characters, he was mourning Trip. It is not unusual for people in mourning to act irrationally.
Despite all that, I do not endorse Mack's actions. I just believe that Mack (and maybe his co-workers) would have been better off if the show introduced Dr. Garner a few episodes earlier and if Mack had some sessions with him.

So you think Mack should have seen Dr. Garner about Lashing out at Coulson?
