The topic of this thread isn't really any kind of revelation (and it's not about whether the precise timeline of the MCU always lines up), but it's just something that really hit me when I watched Thor: Ragnarok a couple days ago.
(Spoilers for the ending of Thor: The Dark World / the beginning of Ragnarok ahead!)
The second Thor movie came out in autumn of 2013. It ended with Loki (pretending to be Odin) sitting on the throne of Asgard and Thor out in the world, going his own path. Now, four years later, at the beginning of Ragnarok, Loki is still sitting on Asgard's throne, pretending to be Odin, while Thor is out in the world, going his own path.
Meanwhile, since the "crossover" episode AoS did with Thor TDW, which was 1x08 "The Well", Ward betrayed the team, became pathetic, then evil, then died and became a zombie squid, then died again; Garrett went nuts, then *sploosh*; Skye became an Inhuman, then Daisy, then Quake; Hunter and Bobbi joined the team, then left; Trip joined the team, then died; Mack joined the team, then became an a-hole; Fitz had brain damage, got better, got badass; Simmons became a good liar, joined Hydra, got an astronaut boyfriend, got PTSD - or not, got badass; Coulson became director of Shield, lost a hand, lost his lady love, lost Shield, got Shield back, lost it again (because now it might be gone); May stopped being a robot, left Shield, got back with her ex, came back to Shield, lost her ex, started flirting with Coulson, became a robot, started seriously flirting with Coulson, kicked lots of ass along the way, finally got over Bahrain, etc., etc., etc.
As I said, not really a revelation that a TV series progresses much much fast than a series of movies, but still... It's a lot, if you really look at a direct comparison!
