So with all of the senior staff off SHIELD put in the framework and the Playground blown to Hell, who is the temporary SHIELD leader and what will be the new headquarters?
My theory is that the one in charge will either be Talbot or Anne Weaver. They will probably use the Iliad as temporary HQ.

I'd agree with that and hopefully SHIELD in Exile decides to let Talbot and the President in on the developments. Too often they love to go Rogue or Dark or Secret or whatever word they like to use. |

I think both of those are solid ideas. Talbot's always awesome to see and we haven't seen Weaver in a very long time.

Be nice if the writers finally remembered that Coulson has had a boat since S2....... Don't care for Weaver (maybe if she toned down the xenophobia a bit), but I'll take all the Talbot I can get. |

SHIELD still has bases all around the world, including their aircraft carrier and the base where the helicarrier was refurbished, so the organisation is far from down for the count.
I might have to re-watch tonight because I didn't get a clear idea of just how bad the explosion was. Anybody have any idea on how bad the casualties would have been? Is the guy with the hair dead?

Talbot will probably take command of what's left of SHIELD. Which isn't much. I don't know if they even have another base anymore. Yeah, he will tak command. Depending of they want to rebuilt the place, Talbot will probably be tasked to looki for a new director. He most likely will also be tasked to find answers to the question: what the hell has happened? |

Well if Piper and YoYo are in charge, then all SHIELD is going to just be ran from the Zephyr and no one is telling the gov't sugar honey ice and tea. But seriously though, I think Talbot will find the Playground a smoldering pile of debris, sigh, call the POTUS, and end up looking for the Zephyr (because that's where he would naturally assume Coulson is). |

Pretty sure just the hangar area is gone; otherwise that would be a lot of dead Shield agents. Remember that Simmons (or Skye?) made a point of having Agent Piper and co. carry the sleeping agents out of the area with the fire? |

I'll be spending next weekend with some family I like and trying to avoid any remotely controversial conversations with others that I spend the rest of the year avoiding
