If you didn't watch it, you should. I cannot stress enough how much I enjoyed it. This show is definitely TOP SHELF. Great FX and more use of powers than I expected. Good storyline and plenty of X-Men references. Did I mention I like it? I like it. From RT: (I actually thought the audience score would be higher) RT reviews from trusted sources: The Gifted was enjoyable, kept the plot simple, didn't require too much knowledge of the movie- or comics-verse, and had solid characters who I am already invested in. October 3, 2017 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Connie Gibbs Black Girl Nerds If you only have time to watch one Marvel super-series this fall -- at least while waiting for The Punisher to come out -- make sure it's The Gifted. October 2, 2017 | Rating: 4/5 | Full Review… Nick Venable CinemaBlend.com It was unmistakably worth the wait to see what Matt Nix would do with this world. October 3, 2017 | Rating: 5/5 | Full Review… Andy Behbakht TV Fanatic I've always suspected that a TV show would be a better fit for the X-Men than movies are. October 3, 2017 | Full Review | Original Score: A- Christian Holub Entertainment Weekly Nix isn't trying to rewrite what is by now a very familiar playbook; he's just adding a few new rules and dusting off more than few old ones. The result is a series with a likeable cast that makes good use of its recognizable comic book characters. October 2, 2017 Kevin Yeoman ScreenRant The Gifted has what it takes to be another "X-Men adjacent" hit for Fox Television alongside FX's Legion. You sound just like many others on this board... as well as, many who disliked AoS at first, on that other board. Give it a chance! Maybe we aren't supposed to know who to root for yet. Maybe we don't know the whole story about how the 'caste' system came to be, and why. Maybe we don't know all the reasons yet about seemingly dumb decisions. Maybe they set up a good story, to be told in full, eventually.---AoS did just that..people were frustrated at first, especially those expecting to see a show about Avengers. And yes, Maybe they had a couple of really dumb things in the first two episodes p.s. Casey had a good point. This is in a post-Afterlife timeline (via the reference). So some of the negative comments from others don't apply.

It's more the sloppy production and bad introduction of the world and characters that bugs me. Gifted did a fabulous job with all of that!

And to be fair, I wasn't really knocking your review in particular, It was just a general reply to all the surprisingly negative comments. I for one am going to give it more of a chance before I decide. Enough about that here, though..off to the other board I shall go after I see tonight's episode And, back on topic, I haven't had a chance to see 'The Gifted' yet. Sounds like everyone enjoyed that one well enough!

On episode 2: Coby Bell's character dragging Sharon Gless' character into the police for questioning as a petty interrogation "tactic"? Duuuude, Michael Westen is going to want to have words about this!

I really like this show, which makes me more than a little worried. This is FOX after all.

Awesome VFX. Helluva good show. Production value is top notch like AoS. This is how powered people should be done (lookin at YOU Inhumans). Amy Acker is a BOSS! They wrote a perfect character for her. This show will make an excellent binge once I have all the eps collected... polgara, I've said the same thing about FOX worries, but I think they won't be getting rid of this one any time soon. It has a very good following and is popular on RT. Can't wait to see the ratings on this. This and Orville should definitely see renewals, IMO.

Jemma Simmons, methinks, after watching the first two episodes of The Gifted, that you better get a sub-board going, and fast! What a great show We are all going to have a lot to talk about concerning it. Side note: I am so doing a happy Snoopy dance about Amy Acker having a truly major role in a show, finally! It is long overdue.

And to think they had planned to bring her back, if Angel hadn't been cancelled after season 5.

I actually just now realised that the show runner of The Gifted, Matt Nix, also created Burn Notice. Go figure! I guess that might mean a whole bunch of familiar future guest stars.
