Saw it last night. It was awesome. Though it falls on the depressing side. Also anyone squeamish to the sight of blood shouldn't see this. Also children say under 12 shouldn't see this either.Without spoiling it, I'll say this. It was a great way for Hugh to close out his role as Wolverine. It's R-rated in the US, 16 here in Germany. I think that should be pretty much a given.

LOL But some people here in the states took their kids to see Watchmen and Deadpool and they still didn't get the memo that these films are not for their kids. Oh and I'd like to add that I wished that the guy who directed this also directed Watchmen.

Anyway, I think people who do that are terrible parents. Here in Germany the ratings steps for movies are 0, 6, 8, 16 and 18 years and you're allowed to watch a movie with the rating above your own age if you're with a legal guardian. But a theater wouldn't let someone take their 8-year-old into a movie that has a 16 rating. I always loved this (sadly fake) little speech Ryan Reynolds gave on the matter:

This could just be my favourite crossover of all time! The even more hilarious thing is that, due to his musical theatre background, Hugh Jackman could pull this off!

It does not disappoint.
(I won't include any spoilers)
It really gives us the Logan many of us have been waiting for. Being Canadian myself, it took a bit for me to accept Jackman in the role. Too tall, too pretty, not Canadian enough. But he really has done the role justice from the start. But Logan is a leap forward from the previous times Jackman has popped the claws. The R-rating helps that a lot of course but even beyond that this film lets Jackman show more depth to the character that even comic writers have sometimes overlooked.
And man Dafne Keen was phenomenal as X-23. I truly hope Fox has plans for more there.
The only things I sort of wish were different (and you can't please everyone):
There's nothing in this film that resembles the classic "Old Man Logan" story. Other than that Logan is old. I get that they can't do anything too faithful given the characters they can't use, but it's almost like they decided why even try to interpret that story. Which is fine of course, but the trailers made it seem like they would at least bring some elements into it which they didn't. The closest they came was one singular detail that they altered (in a way that works for me actually) but anyone that's excited about this based on the Old Man Logan story should park that.
Similarly, the alterations to the X-23 origin didn't seem necessary (unless they're building to something) and I would have much rather seen something closer to the real one. Which would have been totally possible in the XCU with minimal changes. So basically two of my top 5 all-time favorite Marvel comic stories that could have made up this film really didn't. Though the X-23 character herself was quite faithful to the source in most respects. So in both cases here it's a bit like being 16 and having my parents buy me a Ferrari and being disappointed it's black instead of red.
As usual, Fox tries to put too many stories into one. I get that to make money they need broad appeal and can't just write films for hard-core fans. But I certainly would have lined up two days in a row to see the real X-23 origin story one day and then an FXU adaptation of Old Man Logan the next.
But all in all this film did give us very faithful adaptations of the two characters. A fitting final chapter for Logan (we assume) and hopefully a fitting introduction to X-23.
