Doesn't it it feel both forced and typical?
Forced being that it came too fast and it didn't feel earned.
Typical being that it's your typical woman falling for a bad boy trope.
I had not been this annoyed by a pairing since the days of Cordelia (Jasmine)/Connor from the Buffy spin-off Angel.

The only thing that annoys me a little about the relationship is that Mon-El became kind of a doormat. "You're so awesome Kara! You're the best person in the whole wide world and I don't even deserve you. So, how much further should I bent over backwards to please you?" - Otherwise I think they're rather cute. Plus, Kara/James was giving me the creeps! That one was forced and awkward, so I would literally take anything else instead.

I didn't get "typical" because of the bad-boy thing, I got typical due to him being an alien (therefore a supposedly better fit for her..... yawn). I have a feeling SG will be single by the end of this season, tho..... ayanami: Doormat is perfect and yet maybe an understatement. Dude needs to grow a pair....... I appreciated the humor in their relationship up until he misplaced his "nads" and they became, as you said, "cute." Cute Boy needs to go back to Dax.

Yeah, I agree that they probably won't last beyond this season. I guess that after defeating mom, Mon-El will realise that he's still a prince and has a responsibility towards his people. So he'll return to Daxom (sp?) and help with the rebuilding. Because now that Kara has taught him to be a good person (ugh!), he doesn't want to abandon his duty any longer. I would kinda like Kara with Wyn as endgame somewhere down the line. They both need some more character development first, though.

In fact, I'm not interested in Kara getting into a relationship this early. I think that the person to win her heart has to earn it in the plot. What I got was "Oh they are similar aliens, let's pair them up." By that logic, we could pair Winn up with Cat Grant.

You've got an interesting mind, BW Recently watched a few S1 eps and the show is noticeably different without Cat. Not necessarily better or worse, but definitely different.

She was like a third mother to Kara...in a way.
