Ah, I'm rewatching this ep, and still deciding how to put together the summary. But I thought I'd post this... 26:54 Aaaand Daisy wakes up in the healing chamber. Sousa: Hey. What are you doing up? Daisy: Uh, well, believe it or not, I am stuck in a time loop, and running out of ways to save us all. Sousa: Okay. How can I help? Daisy: There's no time. There's... (laugh) Actually, I can take a loop. So, that wasn't hard for you to swallow? The time loop? Nothing seems to faze you. Sousa: It all fazes me... just maybe not my face. Daisy: Every time I ask you for help, you say yes. Even if I don't, you're waiting here to make sure I rest or... whatever. Why? Be honest. Sousa: Honest? I know your type. Daisy: My what, now? Sousa: I know people like you. Some of my favorite people are people like you. Focused on the greater good, even at your own expense. You want people to think you like being alone, even though you always end up back with friends. You hate losing. Daisy: Everyone hates losing. Sousa: Yeah, but you keep running at the problem full-tilt until you either solve it or slam headlong into a brick wall. Daisy: Some of those walls are literal. Sousa: I know. Daisy: But how does that... Sousa: Because when people like you run into those walls, you should have someone there to pick you back up. Daisy: And you... you like to... be that someone? Sousa: Not for everyone. It helps if they're fun to be around and if they say what they mean and if they have that superpower where they can rock things around, which is very impressive. Daisy: That's um... that is awfully specific. Sousa: Mm-hmm... (They exchange looks.) So, what's this problem you're trying to crack? Aaaand Daisy wakes up in the healing chamber. Sousa: Hey. What are you doing up? Daisy: I need you to do something for me. Sousa: Of course. What do you need? Daisy seems to come to a revelation. She steps forward and kisses Sousa, and he returns the favor.. Daisy: That was nice. Now we need to trap a space robot. And once again, Sousa has this bemused look on his face...
I swear, if the writers are setting us up for a big fall, I'm goin' on the warpath...

*watching Skye and Sousa talk* *try not to smile* *smile a LOT* *watching Skye kiss Sousa* FI-NAL-LY!!! Gotta say, though, it seemed really weird to me that Skye was surprised by Sousa being at her bedside. I mean, he sat down there when she went into the chamber, so how did she not notice him? Or was she merely surprised by him still being there? Not that it mattered in the end. Their several interactions during the episode (my favourite being Skye's hesitation to leave a sleeping Sousa after having just watched him die) were the absolute highlight of an already great ep! The writers really power-worked this pairing in there this season, but it. just. works! So kudos to the writers AND to the actors who are really selling this story line! Now all we have to do is wait for Skye to die in the season finale while sacrificing herself for Sousa. Because, you know, we don't do happy endings here. Speaking of a not-happy ending: Poor Enoch. You'll be missed. Again. And yeah, let's just pretend as if anyone on the team would have been willing to die for him. Sounds about right... And, well, still speaking of not-happy endings: I'm gonna lean myself out the window here once again and say that the reason why Fitz hasn't bothered to show up this season is... because he's dead. There's something there that Jemma does not want to remember and if her emotional breakdown after having the implant removed is anything to go by, it's something utterly horrible. So I think that she left a dead - or as-good-as-dead - Fitz behind at some point to save the team and then the world from the Chronicoms, knowing that the only way to do that effectively was to forget what had happened. If you think about it, using the implant to hide information from the Chronicoms is ridiculous anyway. Were they to capture her, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to remove it. If it was about keeping sensitive information from the team, well, how about simply not telling them?! They're spies, they understand the compartmentalisation of information! No, the only really useful function of "Diana" is to keep the memories of whatever happened during the time we missed in the S6 finale from Jemma herself. And I have a feeling we are very soon going to find out what that is. P.S.: What was up with that cologne? Tattletale for Men. Was that like a not-so-suble joke about the whole episode basically resolving about someone wanting to stop Simmons from becoming one? Seemed weirdly random to me. Also, did Jemma really freeze upon seeing the device that could remove her implant? Wasn't she the one who put it there in that drawer? Plus, at that point there wasn't even a notion of anyone potentially wanting to remove the implant, so why the drama?

Not only does Jemma's breakdown make me fear for Fitz life. That could be just her leaving him. And their daughter Diana. Well, thats the theory. But the real clue is that Enoch mentions Fitz right after he realizes he is part of the circle of life that dies. And if his best friend has died Enoch probably was there with him. i agree on the implant and more and more I'm starting to think that she designed it to forget about what she did and that the Fitz we heard at the start of their time travel journey was a recording. All put into a scene in which they make them believe, herself most importantly included that he is still alive and giving them new coordinates. But in fact they were drifting after the chronomicons and Fitz hasn't been involved anymore.
Fitz designed the time drive. In their first time travel journey it took him a life time to design it. So, likely it would take him a life time here. I think he died of old age. And Enoch travelled back in time to hand her the design or maybe even the time drive itself. Enoch tells her of their future and the daughter they will have and that it will change when they will undo what the Chronocom.'s have done. Loosing her chance of a family with Fitz. Enoch will leave that devision with her. And to be able to live with that decision she build the memory surpressing device purely for herself and named it after her daughter. That is my theory for now.

I was able to catch this after getting home:
And there was a good turnout for Lil's live stream, but it's dangerous because CG does some playing with the fan emotions. And CG moves around somewhat, and the final place he ends up gets some teasing from the others, but they completely miss what it reminds me of, The cell on the base where Ward was held, just missing the forcefield portion.

I'm loving this season. The old-school opening credits and all the nods to the older comic costumes etc. are right up my alley.
But this last episode was another level. Best take I've seen on the "time loop" story. I loved when ST:TNG did it and this one I think I like even better. It was fun and somewhat realistic that Daisy was able to get everyone to incrementally get up to speed faster each time. Curious to see what the deal with Jemma was (I avoid spoilers).

Yeah, I love that they decided to finally do the old groundhog day trope before the show comes to an end. It is such a sci-fi staple, after all! Plus, they get bonus points for execution, in that it wasn't even the first loop Skye started in, but that she had already done everything dozens of times before, but couldn't remember. Aside from AoS and TNG, the time loop episode of Stargate SG:1 comes to mind as another great example. I mean, playing golf through a wormhole?? How can you not love that one? But for me, nothing will ever beat Supernatural's "Mystery Spot". Hilarious, insane, mood-whiplash filled wham-episode par excellence!

I think the best is about 4 minutes into this video when she decides she's going to sleep in for a loop. This is just the morning wakeups, she's repeating until she stops a killing on one side of the town and a suicide on the other side with no time to travel between the two.

Did no one notice they ran the opening credits twice? Once during the initial loop itteration, and then again for Daisy's second time through it.
Both title card and the opening credits. Had to back the video up to make sure, lol...

I recall the first time I saw the ST:TNG time loop episode that I literally thought it was the local TV station screwing up. They had done it before where somehow scenes were shown out of order so my mother and I were literally getting annoyed before we started to see the subtle differences. I can't be sure, but I think they also re-ran the opening credits.
