Why do I have the feeling that it is a little too obvious that Izel is the monster behind the shrikes and that the real monster is the guy with the broken fingers? This season, even more than others, seem to love the mis-directions. So yeah her being the big bad seems too likely to be likely.

Why do I have the feeling that it is a little too obvious that Izel is the monster behind the shrikes and that the real monster is the guy with the broken fingers? She mentioned artifacts. I think she means the monoliths.
Speaking of the monoliths, I can't remember if I mentioned it before, but last season there were three of them in the Lighthouse, but remember that Daisy destroyed the one that opens the Maveth portal, so unless the writers forgot about that, there are two that do things other than space and time.

A few thoughts on this episode.
Last week, I thought that Mack was sure that the shrikes destroyed Chronyca-2 because Sarge or his crew talked. We did not see Pax, who was supposed to be the biggest talker, but none of the others talked much. How could Mack be so certain?
So Fitz, Simmons, and some guy with no name are in a game in which one will die. Gee, I wonder which one it will be? It was played for laughs, but, if they wanted any suspense, they should have skipped the third guy. The game could have been the two of them holding on until either a certain amount of time passes or one loses his or her head. We know that Fitz would sacrifice himself for Simmons, so he might throw the game if he does not think that Simmons could hold on for the full length of time.
Just to be clear, I still believe that the ideal outcome would have been for Simmons (and Daisy) to receive a fair trial and a just sentence for her crimes. I still oppose the death penalty.
Daisy talked with Mack about Coulson's first days as director. One of Coulson's difficulties that she did not mention was that Coulson had some traitors in the midst working to overthrow him.
Why did S.H.I.E.L.D. agents enter Jaco's cell alone with Jaco not secured in any way? Even if Jaco did not breath fire, he was very large and very strong.
Depending on how cold the air was that killed the shrikes, it would not have been good for Elena or Diaz. At a high enough altitude, the air can be very cold.
If Sarge truly cares about what he says he cares about, why has he not figured out that he will want to work with S.H.I.E.L.D.?

Either the writers forgot, or there was a duplicate space monolith in the Lighthouse. According to Elena, the three there controlled space, time, and something unknown that Benson hypothesized was life and death. All the known monoliths have been destroyed, but Izel may not know that. The shrikes were made of the same material as what made the monoliths, so, if she is tied to the monoliths, she may be linked to the shrikes as well.

I doubt Izel is the "monster," or the guy with the broken fingers either. He's just an opportunist and she: when new cast members were introduced some months ago, she was said to be a galactic assassin I believe her artifacts are Sarge's knives. They made a point on more than one occasion to show them up close and they look like the poster children of artifacts to me. Mac should have made one demand of his own: May, Daisy and Yo-Yo go with Sarge's team to combat the threat and keep HQ apprised of what's going on. Good ep. I'm enjoying the season so far. EDIT: I was mistaken. Izel is not what I mentioned in the spoiler tag (that moniker belongs to someone else). Here's the article from April when they were introduced: www.cbr.com/agents-of-shield-season-6-new-characters/

AoS6.7
And real life gets in the way again. Did I mention Tuesdays would be lots better for me than the start of a weekend? Summary in the next post...
Executive Summary: Either one must think that extreme coincidences occur daily for our intrepid team, or there's some higher power driving events; and Sarge and SHIELD might have had a epiphany.
Prologue. Overlay: Kitson City
Enter the Casino. We've been here before.
Alien: I appreciate the offer, darlin', but I ain't cut out for a crew. Not really a joiner. Izel: Too bad. Alien: Don't let it spoil what we got going on here. Because this kind of magic, uh-uh, it is not on the menu at the brothels of Kitson... (I swear ladies, I have never been this... slimy.)
Fitz, Jemma and Enoch transport in. Fitz: How the bloody hell did that...
Everything in the casino stops, as everyone looks at the trio for about three seconds. Then things return to normal.
Jemma: We're back where we started. Fitz: On god forsaken Kitson. Enoch, what was the idea here? Enoch: Apologies. It was my first attempt at using an interplanetary conveyance disk. It seems to have returned us to it's last location. But not to worry, I'll make a quick adjustment, and we'll be on our way.
Meanwhile another casino patron has picked up the disk.
Enoch: Sir, that device is quite sensitive, requiring the upmost... (There's a flash, and the alien is gone.) It appears we are stranded. Again. An unfortunate circumstance, as we are still wanted on this planet. Fitz: Well, thanks for that update, Enoch. You know what, you betrayed us, then you saved us, and now you stranded us. If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're about... Jemma: I want to go home...
Well Jemma, you get some ruby slippers and click your heels three times...
Title Card.
Sarge and Snow are being transported down into the Lighthouse. Snow: Such a long way down and no one is talking. (Looks at May. To Sarge.) She head-butted my face, but I still like her.
May, Sarge and a guard get off the elevator.
May (To guard): Put the chatterbox down in holding. Sarge (To snow): See you soon. Don't let the fire go out. Snow: Never. Bye! (Waves to Sarge/May...)
As they walk down a corridor, everyone stares at Sarge. They enter the Lighthouse control room. Everyone there does the same.
Daisy (to May): I guess this would be an awkward time to hug. May: Yeah. (Looks at Sarge.) Sarge: So this lady was in love with this dead-Coulson guy. Anyone else have a thing for him? Daisy: Yeah... I'm... This is too much... (Walks away.) Sarge: Her too, huh? Daddy issues? (LOL) Deke (to Mack): See, what did I tell you? This guy is such a tool. There's no way he's the real Coulson. Mack: Yeah, thanks Deke. (Deke leaves.) Sarge: Everyone seems to have a lot of feelings around here. Mack: Well, maybe it's time you started to share. Sarge: Ask this one. (Nods to May) She can bring us all up to speed. May: He says he's over a hundred years old. He hunting creatures called the "Shrike", the creators coming, the Earth will be destroyed, possibly by Sarge. Does that cover it? Sarge: Yeah, kinda does. Mack: You forgot the part about stabbing the humans these Shrike go into. Yo-Yo: We tried to remove one from a host but it was still alive. Went into Agent Keller. (May reacts.) He didn't make it. Sarge: Sounds like you took my blade out too soon. The Shrike take time to die. That one's on you. Yo-Yo: You don't care about the death you leave behind. Maybe I should teach you... Mack: Easy... Sarge (to Mack): I guess you're the one in charge, so here's the thing. You need to let me go, or everyone dies. Mack: Is that a threat? Sarge: Just a fact. Mack: Noted. But you're staying. You and I are going to get to know each other. Just the two of us. Take him away. (To Yo-Yo) When you've cooled down, I want you to take another shot at Jaco. Maybe he'll start talking now that we have his boss. Yo-Yo: Yes, sir. May (to Yo-Yo): I'm sorry to hear about Keller. Looks like a lot has happened while I was away. Daisy's come back, anyone else? Mack: Simmons is still out there, but... She found Fitz.
In the Casino on Kitson. Enoch, Jemma and Fitz are at the craps table.
Enoch: Well done. (quietly) We must continue to pose at enthused observers until the way is clear. Jemma (unenthusiastic): Come on. Take the prize. Yes. Whoo-hoo. Fitz: Cool. Very convincing, Jemma. Jemma: This place is just not as much fun without the... Vapor trails. Fitz: The what now? Jemma: It's dingier than I remember. Though I don't remember... much. Fitz: In my experience, this establishment is good for one thing...
Fitz and Simmons together: Fitz: Trouble. Simmons: Waves of Euphoria.
Fitz: Wait, what? Waves of what? What does that mean? Is there something you're not telling me... Enoch: The exit is clear. Time to go.
They leave, big green guy opens the door. Green Guy: Mr. Kitson was hoping you'd return. He'll be so pleased to see you. Lock them up.
Back at the Lighthouse, Jaco is coughing.
Yo-Yo: That doesn't sound good. You weren't breathing like that when they brought you in. The silent routine of yours, if it's to protect your boss, you don't have to keep doing it. He's locked up too. Jaco: Sarge is here? Yo-Yo: He finally speaks. You all are going to be here for a while. Might as well talk. Jaco: You need to let him out. Yo-Yo: So he can cause more pain? Jaco (gets up): Look. My planet was like yours. Once. Beautiful. Smaller moon, bigger sun. A place to live a life. Yo-Yo: Family. Jaco: Big one. All boys. Eight of us. My youngest brother, though. We were always together. Yo-Yo: He looked up to you. Jaco: No. I was the runt of the litter. He towered over me. But I trained him. Yo-Yo: To what, to become a fighter? Jaco: A baker. The family trade. Hard work and good smells. Yo-Yo: What happened to them? Jaco: All gone. Fertilizer. Except for me. Thanks to Sarge. Yo-Yo: Let us get you some kind of medicine to help you breathe. Jaco: Depends, are you going to release him? Yo-Yo: Definitely not. Jaco: Then I don't want anything from you. (Rolls over.) Yo-Yo: Suit yourself.
In another cell.
Sarge: I've been through this routine before. You're not ready to hear the answers. Mack: Indulge me. Sarge: You don't have time to spare. It's a nice little planet, be a shame to lose it. Mack: Why don't we start by you giving me your real name. Sarge: You call me whatever you want. Mack: Mm-huh. I'll call you a murderer. You shot one of my agents point-blank. He was just a kid... Sarge: ...who got in my way. Mack: I know once your on a planet it doesn't survive. I've seen the footage. Sarge: It doesn't have to come to that, but it will if you don't open that door. Mack: Are you talking about the Shrike creator that coming? You told me it's a monster. Sarge: Yeah. Or to you a god. Mack: SHIELD's dealt with a lot of folks that thought they were gods. They just had egos. There's only one God. Sarge: Oh I see. This is that kind of planet. One God controlling everything. Benevolent right? To make you feel all warm inside when times get tough? Mack: It's not that simple. Sarge: Whatever your fairy tale. I've seen Gods up close, and I think you're going to get that opportunity too. Believe me, you're not prepared for this. Mack: I'm prepared to protect my people from whatever's coming. Sarge: Your people. They keep looking at me. You might want to get used to that. Mack: And why is that? Sarge: Because by the end of the day, I'll be the one in charge.
commercial.
Daisy (to another agent): Check the scoring on the engine housings, we had some bumps on reentry. Thanks... Deke: Hey! Daisy: Hey! Deke: I just wanted to check in, you know the weirdness of Coulson, whatever. You good? Daisy: Yeah, I'm good. How are you? How's the stab wound? Deke: Oh, I'm fine. The guy just nicked me, so... Daisy: Nice shoes. You picked up some style in the past year. You look good. Deke: I mean, they're vintage '88 Jordans, never worn, super rare, so you know, I guess they're cool, but... And Jordan, are you kidding me? Like what a guy... Daisy: You know who Jordan is, right? Deke: Do I know who... He changed everything. He was a revolutionary. 'Cause he...invented shoes... (HAhahahahaha...) Daisy (eyeroll): Yeah. Deke: 'Cause the thing about innovators, I don't know if we're born, or we... become, but it's usually stuff that the herd just isn't ready for. It's just like I tell the VC's, you know sometimes, you just have to surf that paradigm shift. Daisy: What? Deke: Oh, you probably don't know. I'm super rich now. Daisy: Like real dollars? Deke: Yeah, I started a company. Daisy: What did you do? Like invent a new body spray or something? Cool. Deke: No. No, no, I started a tech company, silly. You know, you were actually a really big inspiration. You encouraged me to go out there and figure out what the world was all about? Well, it turns out, the world is all about makin' money. And old Deke, is very good at it. Daisy: You're doing the third person thing, okay. Deke: Listen, forget about me, I want to hear more about your space adventure. You and FitzSimmons were poking around the galaxy for the last year? And Grandma and Grandpa are still in space, so that's cool. Daisy: What have you been told? Deke: Well, Mack was pretty cagey with the details, you know the Director and his secrets, so, fill me in. Daisy: I mean, it's a long story, but the detail that counts is that we found him. We found Fitz, so... Deke: Found Fitz, what are you talking about?
In the Lighthouse's lab.
May: This is the gear from Sarge's truck. Mack: You know, we gotta start calling him something else. May: He didn't tell you a name, either, huh? Mack: No, and we're in the dark on all of this as well. Except for the blades, and this tracker. If we can get past the encryption on this then we can find the Shrike and save the hosts. May: Has Sarge given you anything that might help with that. Mack: No. Just evasion, and mind games. May: Maybe play some of your own. Mack: I'm open to ideas. May: He's curious about Coulson. I don't think he knows any more than we do about why they look alike, maybe there's something you can use there. (Deke walks into the lab.) Deke: Why didn't you tell me? Mack (to May): You might want to give us a minute. May: Gladly. Deke: Fitz died? He died, and no one was going to bother to, I don't know, send me a text? Mack: It was complicated. Deke: Yeah, no kidding. Besides the fact it completely proves my entire multi-verse theory 'cause I'm still here, there's a second Fitz? And you sent a team out to find him, and you didn't tell me that either? That's not complicated, that just sucks. Mack: It was the call made at the time. Deke: Well, maybe you shouldn't be making the calls, because that was a bad one. Mack: It looked like you had other priorities besides being part of this team. Deke: Oh this team. You mean the Team that I helped bring back from the dystopian future? Mack: Yeah, you did that. Then you left. Deke: (silence, then) I would've gone on the mission to help you find him. Mack: I believe you. And if we can get things settled here on the home front, you'll get your chance. 'Cause I'm going to pour every resource we have in getting back out there and bringing them home. (Deke nods.) But until then, I need someone smart enough to fill their shoes. Maybe you can put that google size brain of yours to work, and help crack this tech. Deke: What, are you trying to flatter me? Mack: Absolutely. Deke: Well (takes the tablet), it totally worked.
Jaco is still coughing in his cell. In Snow's cell. Snow: Poor Jaco. It burns, but it's worth it.
Trevor enters Sarge's cell. Trevor: The Director wants to see you.
Sarge enters Mack's office. He stares at a hologram of Agent Phillip J Coulson. Sarge observes Coulson, staring in wonder... Mack: Must be strange looking at the real deal, when you're just a knock off. Sarge: What did you think this would do to me? Trying to make things personal? Mack: I think you have to be a person for that to happen, and I don't know what the hell you are. Do you? Sarge: It's going to be satisfying when I take you out of the picture. Mack: This man, taught me what SHIELD is about. You do the right thing. We save lives. We don't take them. Sarge: Some lives have already been taken. And you can't get them back. Mack: See, that's the difference between you two right there. Coulson put a value on life. Especially cared about those who were loyal to him. I don't think you do. 'Cause I know your man Jaco isn't well. He's refusing medical care due to some misguided loyalty to you. Sarge: What's your point? Mack: Cooperate with us. Maybe Jaco will do the same. Agree to some treatment. You can help him by helping us. Sarge: Jaco's seen a lot. Maybe he's had enough. Mack: That's what I thought. Just another life, right? Not worth anything to you.
Back on Kitson.
Fitz: What kind of person looks at himself that much? A but tacky this Mr. Kitson. A portrait of himself and everything. Guard: That is his Grandfather. The first Mr. Kitson. He was a great man. Kitson: Ah, he was a son of a bitch. (laughing) But you have to be, when you got ambition. My Grandfather came to this planet with 20 Yookalian slaves and a dream. Fitz: That's inspiring. Kitson: He built this planet's original settlement with their bare hands. A few ramshackled modules for his games, a small dome for his brothel, and then he kept building, so I son and grandson of Kitson would one day have an empire. And you put all that at risk? Using a synthetic, to cheat. Bringing bounty hunters in to reek havoc at my house of games? Fitz: We just want to go home. Simmons: Surely a decent soul like you can understand, as somebody who's so proud of his own home. Kitson: Decency doesn't put food into the mouths of my wives. No, I'm a gambler. I am also a man who will deal out a punishment. Fitz: Okay, there's no need for that. We can work. I'm an engineer. Simmons: Yeah, we both know alien languages. I'm a botanist, a chemist... Fitz: And Enoch here, is a super advance computer. So we can be of use. There's no need to kill us... Kitson: Killing you, is the use I have for you. Fitz: Is it? Kitson: Killing a synthetic is a wasted sport. He'll be sent to the brothels. Enoch: I do not know what I'm feeling. Kitson: You know what, I have something special in mind for you terrans. I hope you're not too attached to your heads. (All the bad guys laugh...)
In the next scene, Jemma and Fitz are in guillotines. Simmons: After everything, this can't possibly be how we come to an end. (Stares up a blade.) No one would believe it. Fitz: I would. (A third guy is put on another guillotine.) Scoundrel: House always wins, don't it? Kitson: Are you ready for a deadly game from the early days of Kitson? Three contestants, put their lives in the balance. Now who among them is strong enough to keep the blades from falling? Blades made from Veroovian steel. The densest metal in the galaxy. The player that cannot hold the weight, will be decapitated. (Crowd cheers.) The bets are in, let the fun begin.
Guard pulls a lever, and all three are holding onto chains attached to their respective blades to prevent the blades from falling...
Commercial.
Kitson: Who will be the first to die? The scoundrel, who tried to steal my most coveted brothel worker? Scoundrel: Guilty as charged! Kitson: Or, will it be one of the Terrans? Criminals! Wanted for nefarious intergalactic deeds? (Isolated shot of Izel looking...) Scoundrel: If I get out of this, I could use the company of a pretty lady. Fitz (to Scoundrel): Hey! Hey! Knock it off. (Chain slips, Fitz screams.) Simmons: Fitz! Don't! Scoundrel: Fitz, do!
A knife appears in Kitson's back. It's being held by Izel.
Izel: I want the Terrans. Kitson: Who are you? Izel: Your man makes a move, this blade goes in straight and comes out sideways. Kitson: The wagers have already been made, I can't just stop the game. Izel: I'm not asking you to stop the game, just pick the loser. Everyone knows the games on Kitson are rigged. Kitson: That's an outrageous accusation, my grandfather helped build... (Izel threatens with the knife again.) Izel: I know you have that little button clenched in your hand. Kitson: Okay, fair enough. But you can't just expect me to give them to you. Izel: I didn't ask that. I'll buy them. Kitson: Why? Izel: That's my business. I understand yours is to make a profit. I'll compensate you fairly. (Twists knife.) Kitson: Okay. (Presses button, shocks the chain the scoundrel is holding.) Scoundrel: Damn. (And off comes his head. Crowd goes quiet. Then CHEERS! Fitz and Simmon's blades are safed. I almost wrote bladders were safed, but then too, probably.) Izel: Compliments on the choice. (Give Kitson a bag.) Kitson (walking away): The Terrans have prevailed in an upset. Another example that in my house of games, anyone can be lucky! Izel (To Fitzsimmons): You look like you could use a drink.
In the lighthouse, Mack and Daisy are walking down a corridor.
Mack: I know you heads spinning. Daisy: I'm fine. Mack: It's a lot for everyone, but I know what Coulson meant to you. Daisy: Seriously, I'm good. We've seen our share of freaks, I mean at this point nothing should surprise us. Mack: He's a match. Same DNA as Coulson. Daisy: That's not him. Mack: I know. Daisy: Plus I... I have other things to worry about. I mean FitzSimmons... Mack: Look, you gotta let them fend for themselves, for now. Simmons made that choice for us, and truthfully, I need you here with me. Daisy: It seems like you have everything handled, Director. I mean, there's a reason all those hands went up when I put it to a vote. Mack: Yeah, thanks for doing me that favor, but uh.. Things change when you're actually running the show. Daisy: Coulson struggled too. He just... He was very good at hiding it. Mack: You see, that's why I need you here with me. I mean, besides being able to quake someone's ass, you're always direct. Daisy: You want direct? Yo-Yo's the most direct person I know. I mean, I saw all kinds of crazy in space, and I came back to a sociopath wearing Coulson's face, but the one thing I don't believe is that you and Yo-Yo are still split up. Mack: Well, you're not the only one that can compartmentalize. Now just like you don't like to think about this Sarge business, I don't like to think about... Daisy: But you love each other.
Deke walks up.
Deke: Hey. So I found a fix for this tracker, of course, I analyzed the alien encryption, ...not easy... and found a way to hack it. That's just me. Guy from the future that doesn't belong, and if you look, there's two other dots. It looks like they're moving toward each other.
Scene changes to May and Yo-Yo walking down a corridor.
May: Once we're in the air, you take a pilot and peel off in the Quinjet. We'll each bag a Shrike, the rendezvous in the Zephyr. Yo-Yo: And it's capture, not kill, right? May: That's right. Look, just because we couldn't save them before, doesn't mean we can't now.
The Zephyr takes off.
May (over the radio to Lighthouse HQ): This is Zephyr One. We're on route to target, will check in when we've caught the birds.
Trevor enters Jaco's cell.
Trevor: We've found two of those creatures. Director sent me to see if... (Jaco is unresponsive.) This is Agent Kahn. We're going to need a medical team. The big guy's not breathing.
But he is breathing. Jaco exhales smoke. He opens his eyes, and gets up, smoke trailing from his nose and mouth. Jaco starts to breath fire at the door as Trevor leaps out of the way. Cut to Snow, and she's smiling.
Trevor: Cancel that medical team. I need a... This guys breathing now, but he's breathing fire! Mack (confused): Say again? Trevor: Fire! He's breathing fire!
Obviously, Jaco shouldn't have done that Ghost Pepper challenge...
Commercial.
Mack (over radio): Stand by Agent Kahn. Almost there. Brace yourself. Coming in violent. (The door is glowing red.) Daisy: Permission to destroy door? Mack: Permission granted.
The door flies in, hits Jaco. Jaco's about to breath again, and Daisy quakes him. In Snow's cell, she hears a thud, which is probably Jaco hitting a wall. Snow: Jaco?
Mack (wielding a fire extinguisher): Glad I could be useful. I guess we know why he didn't want our help, he wasn't sick. Daisy: He was turning into a dragon. Mack: Yeah. And Sarge's ticket out of here.
Overlay: Fort Dodge, Iowa. Shows a man in a car. Overlay: Des Moines, Iowa. A man is entering an apartment. Something is put over the mouth of the man in the car, and a SHIELD agent opens the door. The man in the apartment suddenly has a gag, and in handcuffs. Yo-Yo obviously... Yo-Yo'd.
Well, that was easy.
Cut to Zephyr, May is getting out of a SHIELD vehicle. Agent Diaz: Agent Rodriguez is en-route in the Quinjet. She got her man, too. May: Good. Wheels up in five.
On Kitson, Scoundrel's head in a cage is being taken away. Fitz, Simmons, Enoch and Izel are having a drink.
Enoch: To you're generosity for purchasing my release as well. And... your name? Izel: Izel. Truthfully, I can take or leave synthetics, but my new crew wanted you and you're cheap. No offense. Enoch: Only a little taken. In any case, a cold baracoolada goes well with the taste of freedom. Fitz: New crew. You mean us? Izel: Wish I could say that I saved you out of the kindness of my heart, but I didn't come to Kitson for noble gestures. (Enoch is clearly enjoying his drink.) I came to recruit those with nothing to lose. Simmons: I'm not sure that quite describes Fitz and myself. Izel: You're both wanted. Fitz: Yeah, not for crimes that make any sense. Simmons: Fitz and I are just scientists. Izel: Even better. I don't need fighters, I can handle that. Your knowledge might be perfect for what I'm searching for. Simmons: And what is that? Izel: Valuable artifacts stolen from me. And I know what planet they're on. Simmons: Whatever planet you're going to will probably foreign to Fitz and I. Fitz: Our knowledge is mostly Earth based. Izel: You think it was luck that I saved the lives of two Terrans? Simmons: You mean??? Fitz: You're going to Earth? Izel: We're going to Earth. Simmons: Excellent, yeah! You could have lead with that. Izel: Oh, one problem. I don't have a ship. It was destroyed with my last crew on board. I only salvaged the Jump Drive. (Everyone looks at Fitz.) Fitz: We may know of a ship.
Back at the Lighthouse.
Sarge: You're persistent, I'll give you that. Must be starved for company. Mack: You shared a little with Agent May. Why not continue that conversation with me? Sarge: I was trying to recruit her. You want to take a ride? Mack: No, I'm good. Sarge: Doesn't matter. Like I said, I won't be in here much longer. Mack: Oh, that's right. That's right. How do you think you'll get out? Sarge: We'll see. Anything can happen. Mack: You mean, like, uh, that door could burn down? Yeah. We put out Jaco's fire, and he's sleeping it off. Well, you might want to get used to this cell, 'cause you're going to be in here a while, my friend. Sarge: I don't think I'll be calling this home, or calling you, "friend". Mack: Well, that's disappointing, I was hoping we could plan a fishing trip together. Oh well. (Walks toward door.) Oh we uh... We got your tracker up and running. We nabbed two Shrike that were heading for each other. My team has them inbound, so, it looks like we're going to save those lives after all. Sarge: Wow. Two at once? Seems like you've out smarted me.
Sarge turns away, and smiles...
(Oh please Mack.. It's the first time Sarge's been conciliatory, and you don't pick up on it?)
A great shot of the Quinjet docking with the Zephyr. Looks like they spent some bucks on that one...
Yo-Yo and two guards escort one of the Shrike off the Quinjet.
May: HQ, this is Zephyr One. We have collected the Shrikes. Both are calm and contained, setting a course for home.
Both Shrikes are in a containment pod. What could possibly go wrong? They meet each other, and start shaking like a bad '60's dance.
Agent Diaz: Agent Rodriguez? What are they doing? Yo-Yo: I don't know. (The perps break their handcuffs.) Close the door.
One Shrike puts his hand on the other, and they start screaming. That can't be good.
Commercial.
The Shrike are still screaming. Yo-Yo runs to the com. Yo-Yo: May! These guys started shaking and screaming as soon as we put them together. May: Copy that. I'll contact HQ. (Flips switch.) Control, it seems like whatever they're doing, it's a reaction to their close proximity. Mack: Okay, see if you can sedate them, but keep them in the containment module. (Daisy walks up.) He knew. Daisy: What do you mean? Mack: The way Sarge reacted when I told him we had the two Shrike. He knew something was going to happen. We gotta get him in here, don't we?
Sarge is hauled into HQ.
Sarge: Just a guess, those Shrike you were so proud you bagged? Did they get a little spooky on you? Mack: My agents are in trouble. Sarge: So that's a yes. Get used to trouble. More is on the way. Mack: What are they getting ready to do? Sarge: Kill everyone on that aircraft. Mack (Shoves Sarge against the wall): Tell me how to stop that from happening. Sarge: I showed you. You stick a knife in 'em. But it's too late for that now, 'cause you wanted to save lives.
So, back on the Zephyr, one Shrike puts a spike through the other Shirke. Yo-Yo opens the door with a guard, and more spike appear. The guard fires his weapon, and gets a spike though him for his trouble. (I mean, he stood there and almost begged for it.)
Yo-Yo closes the door, and the Shrike goes nuts in the Containment Pod, growing crystals that fill the pod.
In HQ, May over the com: May: Agent down, and we lost the hosts. Daisy: Copy that. May: Whatever they turned into, it's contained for the moment, but it wants out. Shall we jettison the module? Sarge: You don't want to do that. It feeds on life. You put it on the ground, you'll just be giving it more to consume. Daisy: Negative, do not jettison. Mack: What should we do with it? Sarge: I guess this is where I give you my list of demands.
Back on the Zephyr. Yo-Yo: May, there's no way that's going to hold. It it gets out, we could lose the plane. In HQ. May (over the com): Control, do you have anything for us? It's breaking containment. Control! Mack: What do you want? Sarge: My team and my truck. Then I give you something that maybe saves your plane. Mack: Maybe? Sarge: Depends on how bad it is up there.
On the Zephyr. Yo-Yo: May, if base has a solution, now would be a good moment for it. In HQ: May (over the com): Control, Yo-Yo's in there with it. Give us something. Mack: Deal! Your truck and your crew. What do we do? Sarge: Cold. That stuff can't survive it. Daisy: May. Altitude. Cold kills it.
On the Zephyr. Daisy (over com): What's your altimeter? May: We're high enough. Yo-Yo, we're going to freeze that thing. I need to depressurize and open the ramp. Get out, now. Yo-Yo: Too late for that. (To Diaz) Get some oxygen.
It breaks containment, and starts coming out. Wow. Bad nightmare. But, just in the nick of time, as Dias was going to get red-shirted, the creature breaks apart and falls out the bay door.
May: Yo-Yo, do you copy? Yo-Yo? (A pregnant pause occurs.) Yo-Yo: We're good!
In HQ: May (over com): Zephyr safe, we're coming home. Daisy: Copy that. We'll see you soon. Sarge: Don't get comfortable. There's a lot more out there where those two came from. And their maker's coming. Daisy (to Mack): What do we do next?
Silence. Mack turns toward Sarge.
Sarge: Told ya'. (Holds up handcuffs with smug expression on his face.)
Epilogue.
Door to the spaceship Fitz and Enoch arrived in, opens. In steps Fitz, Simmons, Enoch and Izel. Thug 2: Oh no. Not again. We helped you get your friend back. What do you want from us? Fitz (together with Simmons): This ship is now ours. Simmons (together with Fitz): We're taking this ship... (FitzSimmons apologies to each other. They decide Fitz should speak.) Fitz: We are taking this ship back. Now. Thug 2: Look, I don't need anymore broken bones. So if you want the ship... Izel: We do. And the crew. For a trip to Earth. Thug 2: This clunker wouldn't get you that deep. And we're busy. Izel: I have a drive that will get us there. (Twirls her knife.) And I think I have enough credits to help free up some time. Thug 1: Sure. I'll go to Earth. Thug 2: They're your credits to waste. Izel (to Fitz): Get the drive ready, we'll prep for departure.
Fitz and Simmons hold each other. Simmons: Home. (Fitz sees Enoch going toward the exit.) Fitz: Hey, hey! Enoch. Where are you going? Enoch: My mission, is complete. The Earth was saved, and you have secured passage home. I have a new mission. To find a home for my people. Fitz: Wait a second. Just going to leave without saying goodbye? Enoch: You humans have a saying, Goodbyes suck. (HAhahaha) I thought I'd spare you. Simmons: Thank you for everything, Enoch. Fitz: Thanks, Enoch. Even if you did, totally disrupt my life. Enoch: You are welcome. (Fitz hugs Enoch. It takes Enoch a couple of seconds to figure out how to react. He holds out a device.) Don't be afraid to call. Another of your expressions. (Fitz takes the device.) Fitz: This will contact you? Enoch: Yes. But use it only as needed, for I will not miss you very much Leopold Fitz. (pause) I am bluffing.
End show. Damn. sniff...

AoS6.7 -- Summary and thoughts. Let me start by saying Tuesday's would work way better for me than Friday nights. I may have mentioned that before. I really didn't get to see the ep until yesterday, so I've been in hiding from this place.... Izel. This week introduces a woman (assumed) named Izel. She's an interesting character, with seemingly more money than resources. She's a very likeable character. That worries me, though sharing goals may just make her seem like a likeable character. She could really be a witch deep down. She carries a knife. Lots of knives this season. I wonder if she is the "God" Sarge is worried about. She is seeking "valuable artifacts" that were stolen from her. (I may start a 6.8-based-on-the-30-second-preview spoiler thread...) Of course, they're on Earth, and two Terrans just happen to be in the same casino she's in, in a seedy place called Kitson. How far fetched convenient. Of course, it might not be coincidence... There are some unanswered questions that nobody asked, like what happened to her last crew and ship that got destroyed, except very conveniently, the jump drive? Enoch. Something seems wrong here. Did Enoch kill Altarah and the guards, or just incapacitate them? Either way, Enoch returning to find the Chronicoms a new home seems to be the equivalent of a death sentence, unless the average Chronicom isn't as radical as Altarah. Finding a new home seems to be the better play than time travel and its paradoxes. At least at this point in the story. That he would find his "race" a new home, and giving FitzSimmons a "pager", pretty much crammed both Captain Marvel and Talos into the story, eh? I can't believe he's leaving the show. They did a pretty good job of having a Spock like character show emotion. Then too, he was always listed as a guest star, and the season's not over yet. Sarge. Clearly Coulson's hologram spooked him. Also clearly, he was bested by SHIELD continually (first taking Jaco and Pax, then Snow and Sarge himself with his equipment, breaking the encryption on the tracking device, and defeating Jaco the Dragon), until ultimately winning the day because he has information about the threat that SHIELD doesn't understand. So if Sarge is truly a leader, he has to recognize SHIELD could be an asset, rather than a foe. But he's still keeping secrets. And Sarge and Coulson have the same DNA. Yeah, one little bombshell line they threw in there... Mack. I have to give props to Mack. He more than holds his own against Sarge, it's just Sarge has the upper hand of knowing more of the threat. Some of the dialog they have is great. In the end, I think Mack realizes he needs the information Sarge has, so maybe we'll see a change in his attitude toward Team Mad Max. Any bets screw ups by both Simmons and Gregg make the S6 gag reel? Jaco. Still a likable character. He could have killed Kahn, but didn't, his mission was to save his team. Can't fault him for that. And Jaco was the runt of the litter. Can't imagine what goes for labor pains there. It would be interesting if Pax and Snow are the last of their planet as well. It would certainly explain their loyalty to Sarge... The Shrike. Killed by the cold? Donnie Gill anyone? (Have to admit, had to look up the "Gill" part of the name.) Quake seems a good candidate to take out those crystals. Sarge probably don't know Inhumans. Deke. Okay, they're turning the character into someone who fits into the team, by showing he knows tech, and his willingness to go after Fitz, had he known. Still goofy, but he's becoming part of the team. (Yeah, I laughed at the part where Jordan was the guy who invented shoes...) Other stuff. Where was Benson? Then too, there are so many characters, that they can't squeeze all of 'em into a 42 minute episode. I hope Piper and Davis are taking an extended vacation away from each other. I know Thug 1 and Thug 2 probably have names, I'm just too lazy to go look them up, and that's what I called them in an earlier episode. All right, I admit the guillotine thing was a bit over the top, but then too, it was supposed to be on Kitson. Oh, and let me add that for all they like to spray blood on the walls, that guillotine scene was remarkably blood free... And just where did that guy with the disc in the casino go?

Clark and Henry's bloopers might be good, but I think I could watch a relatively long blooper reel of just Elizabeth and Chloe acting high in the casino.
Will the next meeting with Jaco be The Wrath of Khan?
Benson is probably off with his Quinnjet and pilot looking for more monoliths.

They did a pretty good job of having a Spock like character show emotion. Then too, he was always listed as a guest star, and the season's not over yet. Despite Atarah's bluster, Chronicoms appear to use nonlethal force. Both Daisy and Piper survived being shot without any negative effects. I assume that it was Chekov's pager that Enoch gave Fitz, so I expect to see Enoch back by the end of the season, perhaps when Fitz and Simmons realize that the entities that destroyed Chronyca-2 are on earth. We learned that Sarge had Coulson's DNA in "Window of Opportunity." We just do not know why/how. We have definitely reached the point where S.H.I.E.L.D. and Sarge's team should figure out that they should be working together, assuming that Sarge wants to save the earth from the shrikes. His plan could be to take out the shrikes and the god/monster by taking out the earth while they are here. Sarge may realize that S.H.I.E.L.D. would object to that plan. The closed captioning calls the thug with a mustache "Boyle." The name has not been used in the show itself, yet, so I call him Thug #1 as well. There has been less blood spatter this season than in the fifth season. I do not know if it is the possibility of an 8:00 air time or if the blood spatter in the fifth season came from a one-time-only bulk purchase that has since ran out. If it defaults to returning to its last location, the guy probably went to the Chronicom ship.

As such, “Moon Goddess” and “She of the Rainbow” appear to be the most frequent translations in common literature. This is, however, inaccurate. Upon closer inspection, it becomes apparent that “Star”, or “Estrella” en Español, is much more accurate of an translation.
Itzel is borrowed from Nahualá K'iche', an independent dialect of the Quiché Maya language spoken in Northern Guatemala. Nomenclatural variants of Itzel, such as Itzehl (Huastecan, Poqom) and Itsehl (Yucatecan, Quichean) appear in Southern Mexico. They differ in meaning. Itzehl translates to “Moon Goddess”. Itsehl translates to “She of the Rainbow”. However, Itzel, which translates to “Star”, is used without discretion as an interchangeable synonym with it’s aforementioned variants, thus obscuring Itzel’s true meaning.
Itzel is an example of positive cultural regression. Amongst populations with direct ancestral relation to Mayan Culture, Itzel is rare. However, amongst the majority Ethnic Mestizo population, sentimental attachment to indigenous culture is at present acceptable, where in past generations it was not. This has skyrocketed the popularity of names such as Itzel. This trend is predicted to continue."
Since, per your episode 5 transcript, Benson wanted to go to the Yucatan because that's where the monolith was found, I'm going to assume her name is pretty important. Sarge was pretty insistent that a god(ess) is coming. She's a very likeable character. That worries me, though sharing goals may just make her seem like a likeable character. Is it too soon to begin a "Bring Back Enoch" campaign? Sarge. Clearly Coulson's hologram spooked him. Then too, there are so many characters, that they can't squeeze all of 'em into a 42 minute episode. Per your transcript for episode 5 he was headed to the Yucatan and then SA because the word that reminded me of Pikachu was Incan. BTW thanks for the transcripts, they are a good way to check if I remember something correctly.I hope Piper and Davis are taking an extended vacation away from each other. She will probably end up being godmother to his kid.I know Thug 1 and Thug 2 probably have names, I'm just too lazy to go look them up, and that's what I called them in an earlier episode. He's probably going to have to face some very angry Chronicoms

A few thoughts on this episode. Last week, I thought that Mack was sure that the shrikes destroyed Chronyca-2 because Sarge or his crew talked. We did not see Pax, who was supposed to be the biggest talker, but none of the others talked much. How could Mack be so certain? Benson had decoded the wall-guy's memory. From 6.2: So my guess is, they knew the location from the guy's memory... What crimes? On a planet where the rules/laws are made up by the owner of the planet? Maybe because he never posed a threat. Well, until he started breathing fire, but even then he was trying to escape, not kill anyone. (Ask Trevor about that one.) At a high altitude it's all about the air. You can withstand cold for short periods of time, it's the lack of oxygen. (Let me relate the problems I had at the top of Pikes Peak, a mere 14,100 feet ASL... ) At least they covered that aspect of it...

It seemed Enoch did the same to Altarah and the guards as was done to him, so he probably knows how to 'reboot' them based on Fitz' description of how he was booted. Well, except for the fact Enoch was holding a weapon when he took his "Bold action"... I think it might be the "Scared-pissless Kahn"... That was like, the day before yesterday in show time. I would have expected him to take some sort of support team, unless that's where Piper and Davis are at. It will be disappointing if we don't see him in action in Mexico/South America. Certainly something has to happen down there, since that seems to be the direction the show is taking...

How interesting. It falls in line with things like "Pachakutiq". (Meaning they may be taking elements from an actual mythology.) Cultural appropriation, lol. I thought that was totally not-PC these days... Well, it really did look like he was written out of the show (ala Hunter and Bobbi), but there's still 6 episodes to go. We may see him back at some point... (cough)Robert Hansen(cough)... He was also the runt of the litter. Try delivering that, ladies... What if she ends up in the framework? A door opens, out steps Daisy, who slaps Daisy, and asks, "What took you so long?", then hugs herself. I'll bet she'd be all sorts of pissed-off once the shock wears off... His kid was born two years ago (in Season 4.) I don't know the rules of godmothering, but that seems like an awful long time...
