Sept 27, 2017 Live rewatch: Season 4, Ep. 7 Since I (couldn't/chose not to) join the chat live, I'll do the equivalent of DVRing it: I'd rather not imagine Coulson having a heart attack. Avengers was bad enough. They can't pass through closed doors. If you noticed, we only ever see them sneak behind non-phased people when they're going through doors. We never see the three of them physically passing through a closed wall or door. If you want to nitpick the physics of it all and compare it to Lucy, you'll also notice that none of them went around flying all ghostlike in the air, despite the fact that Fitz claims they were worse off than her and she did. You know, I think that Coulson may have enjoyed Fitz telling him off too. It was probably a (secret) relief for Phil to finally fess up to why he abdicated the throne. Phil isn't an idiot (...at least not socially) so he had to know that his team was NOT handling the new administration well and may put some blame on him for Mace's actions. Try being the ultimate Coulson fangirl and seeing that scene. It was like: Would they do it? Would they actually do it? Suck Coulson to another dimension just like that? *Remembers Coulson's death/Hand's death/Trip's death* ...Yep, they totally would...
I will however admit that yeah, that scene was a bit pointless. Though, it did make me realize that Coulson is (slowly...very slowly) getting back in my good graces. If that had happened in the second half of last season I would have been like, "Bye, Jackass!" I can. What's a better way to convey to the audience that Radcliffe is annoying, and egotistical? Everything about it is wrong, but the song and his singing describe Radcliffe's personality to a T. You could just see him singing that song and know what kind of person he is almost remotely. Why is it that these people live in world where one of their colleagues was resurrected from the dead with alien blood, had a part of his memory erased, and replaced, before another one spent 6 months on an alien planet and lived to tell the tale, before an ex-colleague died on said planet but was replaced by a previously human monster, but a self healing car is scientifically impossible, EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE SUPER POWERS!? He has his moments. I loved that too. I just wish we had seen Coulson sigh and be like, "Oh.....Right." Never in the entire series had I wanted Fitz to just lunge at and destroy another character so badly. I yelled at my TV that night, "PUNCH HIM! GO AHEAD DO IT!" Thus ends my belated contribution to (this) chat. S04E07 is my most favorite episode of season 4 so it was a very tough decision to be otherwise engaged while you guys covered it. I consoled myself and trudged on with my homework with this idea in mind. |

I'll be spending next weekend with some family I like and trying to avoid any remotely controversial conversations with others that I spend the rest of the year avoiding
