Just two episodes in and this show is already breaking my heart! Why did you have to do that?? If things keep going this way, I might have to join Jess in her usual drinking problem (seriously, girl, stick to drinking at home, that's way cheaper!). First Jerry aparently learns about a terrible illness and now they killed off one of my absolute favourites?!? Well, at least he went out like a hero, that's more than some characters get. (Looking at you, AoS! ) Don't know how I feel about Trish's new guy, yet, or that supervisor dude, although I have a feeling that the latter might end up banging Jess eventually. And the former, well, the usual tropes say "traitor or dies", but I guess it remains to be seen if JJ will surprise me yet. The Whizzer was awesome, btw. Would have loved to see him stick around a tad longer!

Got through four episodes yesterday. Not disappointed at all. This is the story I hoped they'd tell in some way and I'm not minding the side stories.
Loved seeing the Whizzer too. When he first showed up I thought it was going to be a simple nod/joke but then the more they showed that sequence it reminded me of when they interviewed the "victims" in season 1 and the ones with the silliest stories ended up being legit.
Would love a non-spoiler thread too (at least until I've finished all the episodes).

Six episodes in and the season just reached a MAJOR holy sh*t moment! Like, omg, wtf?!?
All in all maybe a bit slow at times, but I think I like this season more than last so far. They got rid of all the annoying side characters and Malcolm is much more tolerable than in S1. Big improvement here.

Series finished. It was really well-done. I liked that S2 really dealt with Jessica's inner demons. Wow, was the ending depressing, though.

After seeing Season 2, I think it's safe to say that this is probably the darkest series in all of MCUTV. Damn...

I don’t feel like there was anything positive for any of the characters by the end. I guess pulling them all out of the hole they’re in will be S3. Well, at least Jessica has her new guy and his kid now, which seems to be developing into an actually healthy relationship for one, so there's that. It does seem like very little, though, compared to everything she's lost. The whole thing with her mom was just brutal. To lose her again, by her best frend's hand no less, gosh that was horrible! I kept telling Trish to stop taking Simpson's stuff, but would she listen? No! Never would have expected her to spiral out of control like that, though. Down, down the rabbit hole goes... What I found really interesting about the season as a whole, was that there was never a clear cut villain. Although one might also argue that that was more of a negative point, since it took away some of the show's focus compared to S1. Still, whether for better of worse, I couldn't name the villain in this season, because no matter how much bad stuff ALL the characters pulled, they always had good reasons and motivations that went far beyond a hunger for control, power, money or other "villainous" instincts. Btw, I have to take back my earlier positive statement about Malcolm. Sure, okay, he wasn't quite as obnoxious and holier-than-thou this season, but his reaction to finding out about Jess's mom just tops pretty much everything. So Jessica tells him and Trish that not only did she discover that her mom, whom she had thought dead for 17 years, is still alive, but that this woman is also a multiple murderer and that she's been having a hard time dealing with that. Malcolm's reaction: "But why didn't you tell me me me??" Honestly, dude, go to hell!

I wasn’t sure about seeing Kilgrave back, but I loved how they used him to embody all the horrible stuff she’s faced. And I do see it as a positive that she is reaching out and developing a relationship with her new guy and his kid. I was also really disappointed in Trish and Malcolm. I just wanted to shake both of them through the entire season.

I don’t feel like there was anything positive for any of the characters by the end. Hellcat would disagree I think. Though ironically her actually getting some sort of powers is probably the worst thing for her even though she's probably bursting with joy. That's a favorite part for me of this season and series that I haven't seen mentioned yet: that many characters have sort of the opposite reaction to what we're used to with comic book tropes. Jessica for one of course as the person who is terrified of her powers and rejects them rather than other cliches who are sewing a new costume in scene two of their origin stories. Then we have Trish who is envious, then jealous, then almost angry with Jessica. I hope for season 3 they explore that and maybe have Trish at direct odds with Jessica. Not as a villain of course, but maybe Trish can sort of be the Punisher to Jessica's Daredevil in some way. Loved the way they used Kilgrave as well and glad they resisted the urge to use DT more. Realistically there's no way Jessica would be "over it" by now and while they didn't really have to show it, I liked how the mixed Kilgrave in as sort of her subconscious. AKA Three Lives and Counting was one of my favorite episodes.

Finally saw it. Binged it in three days (maybe four..... dunno, as time flew). I liked the main story line with mommy dearest. I thought it was well done and a great way to examine JJ's past and continue to deal with her demons as she begins understand what makes HER.... A HERO (insert ripped off animated Captain Marvel trailer sequence here). I, for one, liked Malcolm's evolution. He was a favorite this season (I mean... c'mon.... you can get sh!t on only so many times.....). Trish was his downfall, if you ask me. The crap about Geri (sp?), I could have done without. Nuff said. I wasn't really expecting, and initially not liking, Trish's story; but, I ended up okay with it. It's not that I don't like side character story lines, but this season had too much Trish (kind of like too much Skye and too much Ward in the first couple of seasons of AOS). Hopefully we'll get more of Trish's development without her taking up too much screen time. Oh.... and, speaking of Trish........ I was really hoping her mom would become collateral damage this season. Just can't stand that character. The actress plays her perfectly (almost too perfectly) and that's probably why I can't stand her. Whizzer was a nice nod to the source material. I'm glad they didn't overuse him though, as too much Whizzer would have taken too much away from an already crowded season...... My favorite character was the cop. His love/hate relationship with Jessica had a very real feel to it. His actions, as much as any other character, showed JJ what a hero she could be..... if she'd just accept the truth. He was the cherry on top of a great JJ S2 Sundae. I agree with those that said the way they used Tennent was really well done. It was a great way for JJ to battle her inner demons and not use too much time in doing so. Flowed really well.
I gotta say, although this series does seem to drag ass, it actually has a good pace and I really enjoy it. Can't put my finger on "why" but it's one of my favorites of all the Netflix Marvel shows.
I'm on to IF S2 next, then DD S3. After that, I'll backtrack to Punisher, then LC. I hope seeing them out of order won't spoiler another series, though...............

I think there are a few lines about what Luke's been up to in Iron Fist S2, but nothing too spoilery. Have fun with DD S3 and the Punisher! Both are great!

I think there are a few lines about what Luke's been up to in Iron Fist S2, but nothing too spoilery. Have fun with DD S3 and the Punisher! Both are great! Agreed. I watched all of them as soon as they came out but have friends that take a lot longer with it. So watching with them we've basically watched JJ2 and LC2 at the same time, alternating episodes and now have mixed in IF2 as well. Though I'm dying to get them to start DD3 since that is AMAZING. Nothing that would count as a spoiler really and they've sort of written all of it so that they could be happening at the same time or at least vaguely mixed in - similar to IH, IM2 and Thor in phase 1. IF2 - only ten episodes which is a good move but better than season 1 for sure. A few interesting new characters mixed in. But DD3 is absolutely the slice of chocolate cake dessert to the Netflix meal this year.
