My reaction is pretty much the same as yours. Given Marvel's track record, I'd give a Willie Lumpkin series a fair chance.
I was forced to read Cloak & Dagger when they shared Strange Tales with Dr. Strange (& crossed over with him occasionally) but the comic series didn't impress.

Either way, here is the first proper trailer for Cloak & Dagger, as well as the teaser that was released last month. Looks promising!

I'm trying to keep my expectations low as some of the ads I have seen (which is only a few) make it look heavy on the teen angst angle. So for now I'm sort of treating it as something I want to watch to complete my MCU experience and because I'll pretty much anything Marvel (even Inhumans and XOW etc.)
But yeah, sort of hoping to be pleasantly surprised. I have very minimal knowledge of the characters from the comics - so hopefully that helps avoid any "they changed ____!" worries for me at least.

Through three episodes so far. Enjoying it a lot and it is quite different from anything else in the MCU which is great. Who knew that "I didn't do it" girl could act? She's been really strong. Aubrey Joseph is brilliant too (well I guess he's dark and ethereal and Olivia Holt is "brilliant" given their powers).
Curious to see where they go with the story this season but really enjoying it.

Just watched episode 4. I really find the visions each character has interesting. I also really like the way they are building the characters. I have no idea where they are going to go with things, but I'm enjoying the ride so far!
